Democrats in trouble?

It's too bad - if it was just a regular sort of year, Dems would win both houses.

Awwww....you sad? I find this evidence of glaring ignorance. Do you have any idea how bad this would be if Democrats were to get into a position to completely obstruct and attempt to destroy this President? What it would do to this nation?

You're an idiot.

News Flash for you Low/No Information folks.

The Democrats have been in trouble since 2010.

The Democrat Party has lost over 1200 seats nationwide since 2010.

They hold less seats in Congress today than since the 1920's.

HRC captured only 20 of the 50 states, most of them being large metropolitan areas on the coast.

The Democrats hold only 14 of the 50 Governor seats in the Country.

The Democrat Party can really no longer even be considered an National Party.

Maybe a Coastal Party at best.

It's shocking how you guys can't see what has happened to your party.

Let's stop fooling ourselves.

No one is voting to keep these racist fucks in office.

THEY ARE CHEATING.

And if they are actually voting for them...….that says a lot about white America.

Not all of White America are Republican
This election it's the women 's vote that will make a difference

MSNBC was reporting just today about how difficult it would be for the Democrats to take the Senate.

Wait, I thought the LWNJ talking point was, there is no significant voter fraud taking place. Make up your little pee pee brain.

I have turned around on my thinking about Kavanaugh, from a practical standpoint, I hope he passes and those Democratic Senators who need to, vote for him.

I hate to get all practical, but that would be the best thing that could happen for the Dems in the midterms.

I get that if people think he's guilty, they wouldn't want someone who committed that kind of assault on the court. But it's very inconclusive, and if people just want him defeated just for the sake of it, they're not really thinking ahead. Trump would just nominate someone else as or more conservative.

If he's confirmed, it diffuses all of the righteous anger on the right, and fires up the left even more for election day.

These are dark times for Democrats. After all, Fascists, racists, Nazis KKK, rich people and immigrant haters don't like them.

I have not seen the FBI report, but it is so far a he said she said and thus I really do not know who is telling the truth. I did not like his behavior and the hearing illustrated the sexism in the Republican party. It was fun to watch TRump try to hold back. Unless their is more proof he perjured himself in front of Congress... I guess he should get appointed, elections do have consequences.

Remember the founders' vision:

“[A social division exists] between the rich and the poor, the laborious and the idle, the learned and the ignorant. … Nothing, but force, and power and strength can restrain [the latter].” John Adams in a letter to Thomas Jefferson (1787)

You sanctimonious dunce; who cares what you think? You morons on the left have burnt your own house down.

It doesn't even meet the burden of he said she said snowflake. The only way you don't know who is telling the truth is by clamping your mind tightly shut and wearing those partisan blinders.

In the legal context, here is my bottom line: A “he said, she said” case is incredibly difficult to prove. But this case is even weaker than that. Dr. Ford identified other witnesses to the event, and those witnesses either refuted her allegations or failed to corroborate them. For the reasons discussed below, I do not think that a reasonable prosecutor would bring this case based on the evidence before the Committee. Nor do I believe that this evidence is sufficient to satisfy the preponderance-of-the-evidence standard.

Dr. Ford has no memory of key details of the night in question—details that could help corroborate her account.

• She does not remember who invited her to the party or how she heard about it.

• She does not remember how she got to the party.

• She does not remember in what house the assault allegedly took place or where that house was located with any specificity.

• Perhaps most importantly, she does not remember how she got from the party back to her house.
o Her inability to remember this detail raises significant questions.
o She told the Washington Post that the party took place near the Columbia Country Club. The Club is more than 7 miles from her childhood home as the crow flies, and she testified that it was a roughly 20-minute drive from her childhood home.
o She also agreed for the first time in her testimony that she was driven somewhere that night, either to the party or from the party or both.
o Dr. Ford was able to describe hiding in the bathroom, locking the door, and subsequently exiting the house. She also described wanting to make sure that she did not look like she had been attacked.
o But she has no memory of who drove her or when. Nor has anyone come forward to identify him or herself as the driver.
o Given that this all took place before cell phones, arranging a ride home would not have been easy. Indeed, she stated that she ran out of the house after coming downstairs and did not state that she made a phone call from the house before she did, or that she called anyone else thereafter.

Dark times for America.

Wrong; those ended with the end of Obamunism. But the Party of the Jackass is still desperately flailing and trying to move us towards Venezuela. Let's hope the voters fix that this fall.

But I am amuse by your definition of "dark" It is mind numbingly stupid.

All this talk of "backlash." Base GOP voters are always angry. They're turning out regardless.

If Kav gets confirmed, what do they complain about? The investigation? That's not lasting anger, imo. I don't see a big difference there.

Is there no "backlash" for Trump & the right once again mocking women and marginalizing the way many are treated?

I'm interested to see what happens. Democrats have far better candidates across the board this year, and people are underestimating voter registration efforts and the raw emotion on the left. I think Democrats take the House, and minimize GOP gains in the Senate.

Reciting facts about Ford’s accusations isn’t ‘mocking’.

In any event, this was one of the worst political miscalculations by a political party in recent memory. Democrats had a big lead in voter enthusiasm until they hitched their wagon to Ford and her inconsistencies, memory lapses—and yes, lies.

Now they have the republican based fired up and I don’t see it abating regardless if Kavanaugh gets appointed—because democrats showed republicans what they are capable of.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if the #walkaway movement grew some numbers over this.

It was THAT bad.
