As for the future Justice of the Supreme Court, we saw the "belligerent" guy Kavanaugh's college roommate told us about. The opposite of judicial temperament. And he's lying. In order to believe him you must believe, since he acknowledges the assault occurred - just not by him, that a highly accomplished woman has mistaken for 36 years the identities of both men who assaulted her even though she knew who they were at the time. No wonder the ABA is having second thoughts this morning.

Bull. Absolute bull. I’m a minority living in a place where my race was once stereotyped (as lazy drunkards) and discriminated against much more than it is now. Advice from my great grandfather and grandmother: “Get an education, live according to the rules (law), keep your nose clean and work hard.” That has been a simple formula for success for my aunts and uncles, all of whom are more “of color” than I am, and all of whom have been successful from the west coast to the east coast (there were 21 of them) and all of whom continue to be mostly politically conservative. Among my African American friends a similar motto can be found. My preacher friend and the youth minister from a town about 25 miles away share similar stories about advice from their parents and grandparents. Try having as good a life with the freedoms we have in many other countries out there. Ain’t happening. Our country has its problems, no doubt, and there may be some countries that are deemed greater by somepeople but that still doesn’t change the fact that America is a great place...for everyone who will take advantage of what it offers.

As to the OP, it’s all about perspective. I agree with everything Mott has said thus far on this thread (unless he slips something in while I’m typing this post ;)) and will add this:

Among my acquaintances and from my Facebook and twitter feeds many are touting his passionate speech as heroic and voicing exactly what they believe is happening. So it depends what ones perspective is.

Oh, and I did the math last night and of my FB and Twitter positives for Graham’s speech (my wife and I were curious) and of the positive posters 83% were women. Men were keeping their mouths shut about it. Many of them were of the mind, “What if it were my husband/son/grandson...” Perspective.
