How is it that India has supplied photo IDs for over 95% of their voters? That's nearly 800 million people, yet apparently a rich country like the US is incapable of doing the same!

I thought his job was evidence-based.

Even if this is a crime, and Strzok is brought to justice for it, that doesn't mean the appointment of the Special Prosecutor is in jeopardy or should not be completed. Is that the line of dots you're trying to connect? Sorry, I don't see that happening.

Telling me I have to provide an ID when voting when I proved that when I registered is redundant and not necessary, so it is both an annoyance , an inconvienence bordering on harrasment and a burden and since what problem does it solve? It doesn't. It's a statistically insignificant problem.

This is exactly what is meant by the "rationalizations based on fear" that Trump Supporters who exhibit the prejudice and intergroup contact psycho-pathologies project.

The fact that it's *only* the Reichwing freaking out about the nearly non-existent voter fraud problem tells us all we need to know.

BTW, when we moved up here shortly between the 2016 election, we got registered to vote when we went to get new drivers licenses for this state. I brought my old license, birth certificate, passport, and stamped snail-mail showing the current address. Then we got voter cards. That should suffice at the poll, right? We *still* had to show our drivers licenses. Two of the three polling place workers were our neighbors. lol

If you don't work at unskilled labor jobs then your wages are not being depressed by that factor.

What is more likely to be depressing your wages is if your work can be automated or outsourced.

Automation has drastically reduced the number of available jobs. That's verified. Many displaced workers have gone into other work, flooding numerous other job markets with additional job-seekers, thereby depressing wages.

Blaming immigrants for what executives have done, to increase their stock price and their own wage, may not be the most accurate perception.

And how do you explain reports that undocumented immigrants, terrified of being found out and deported, take extra care not to violate laws nor find themselves apprehended? I think the reports show that American citizens are more likely to commit crimes than illegal immigrants. Is that a troublesome report? Should it be assumed it is fake news? Is that wise?
 
of course photo ID is a burden.....do you realize that the energy required for everyone to take your ID out of your pocket and show it to a polling official would be sufficient to run Taos, NM for nearly a week?......even more if there's a primary.......
 
Actually, people working at better paying jobs than unskilled labor probably benefit from having immigrants here because the products and services which employ cheap labor cost less because of it.

Yes we do thanks to our Republican controlled legislature. It's almost as stupid as building a wall on the Mexican border. You have to show shit loads of ID when you register to vote and when you vote you have to give your signature that you voted. Simple comparison of signature at the poll to that you registered with would catch any ineligible voter. Considering that the incidence of voter fraud is so low it's just plain silly. It's no great burden but it's really just conservatives showing their ass that they can inconvenience you with a solution looking for a problem.

It's not a "burden", it might annoy you, but it's not an inconvenience either. it certainly isn't "harassment" .
The only burden might be on acquiring ID for those who can't afford it,or are too handicapped to go get one.
That's why I said there needs to be accommodation for those individuals

We show id to prove who we are. I walk in and pull out my drivers license (no voter card needed) -
and they look at me and the signatures, and hand me a ballot. that's it.

That's not exactly making me a beast of burden - it's a quick, sane check on the reality of who i am or not

they might have a national ID card? We do it state by state ( just guessing)

damn near everyone has ID in the states, you can't do much of anything without it, especially since after 9-11.
The Dems want you to believe there are these mass of poor people that function without one.
