A simple Google search reveals what it takes to get a star on the Walk of Fame:

You have to be nominated, and you can nominate yourself.
You need $40,000
You need to have a credit of some kind in the industry

So the bar for getting a star is incredibly low and is really the equivalent of a participation trophy.

Well, no one deserves a star...it's something you buy or someone buys for you. It's not earned in any way. There's no meritocracy behind it. Literally anyone with $40,000 can get one.
