I only saw this guy's name on boards. I didn't seek to read him. Apparently, he did his job well if he showed up on political boards. OBAMA wasn't so bad afterall. A lost golden age of reason and morality.

Former Republican Max Boot spent eight years trying to stop Obama as an aide to both John McCain and Mitt Romney, and as a longtime conservative columnist.

Boot, who is now a columnist for the Washington Post, was never a Trump fan, but he did write a column the day after the election in which he argued that a Trump presidency “might not be so bad” and encouraged optimism.

Now, in a new piece for the Post, Boot is prepared to say that, actually, it is that bad.

“Now I would take Obama back in a nanosecond,” he writes. “His presidency appears to be a lost golden age when reason and morality reigned.

what has actually happened is that nothing whatsoever has changed since the invasion, Americans still take it on faith that Vladimir Putin, Bashar al-Assad and Kim Jong Un are world-threatening enemies in sore need of ousting, and bloodthirsty psychopaths like Max Boot who have been consistently wrong about everything are still hailed as experts worth listening to.

This spectacularly evil man, who wrote an essay titled “The Case for American Empire” just weeks after 9/11 in which he called in plain English for America to “unambiguously to embrace its imperial role,” is now seeing his latest essay shared eagerly by Democrats everywhere enthusiastically exclaiming “Look! See? This conservative gets it!”

I’m seeing some progressives arguing that Boot’s sudden public recognition of his white male privilege is intrinsically worthy of praise and acceptance, and that the proper response is to applaud him for it, not spit in his face. These people are wrong. Max Boot did not have some personal epiphany about race and gender dynamics which he felt like sharing in Foreign Policy magazine (the obvious place everyone goes for publication of their enlightening insights into privilege and inequality); Max Boot is courting Democrats because his war-hungry ideology is being increasingly rejected by Republicans.

Boot was a #nevertrumper all the way. I followed him on Twitter because he was a Rubio backer and I supported Rubio. Boot hates Trump and basically every tweet was anti-Trump.


This false spin isn't something you would catch unless you knew the facts. Yet rawstory does it in most articles they write. And people on this board continue posting their articles.

My issue with the guy was he went from disliking Trump based on conservative principle to basically disliking everything Trump does even if it's a conservative position.

So in that respect, he actually does speak for Trump voters. Since 95 percent of Trump voters undoubtedly supported the Iraq War - even the one who claim they opposed the war now, but 15 years ago were leading the cheers for it.

Oh, and Trump also supported invading Iraq.

So you think the Republican Party is pro huge debt? trump is. You think they are against free trade? Trump is pro tariffs and wants to have them on everything China imports. I bet His and Ivanka crap made in China will be exempt, like they were last tariff. Republicans and true conservatives should hate Trump,. This is not counting his weakening NATO and the EU while grabbbing Putin by his schwantz.

I have also been disappointed by the many NeverTrumpers who have basically abandoned conservative policy, like Jeff Flake and that woman who writes for WaPo that has drawn a lot of attention.

( although the IC tries to get us involved in Syria etc)
