So you can provide quotes from all those "righties", on this forum, that support your accusation??
Apparently she can't.

First thing all would-be tyrants do is identify an enemy and whip the minions up into a frenzy over it.
BTW, the law that requires all ERs to treat emergent conditions and not turn them away for lack of insurance was passed and signed off by Saint Ronnie.
"The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)[1] is an act of the United States Congress, passed in 1986 as part of the Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA). It requires hospital Emergency Departments that accept payments from Medicare to provide an appropriate medical screening examination (MSE) to anyone seeking treatment for a medical condition, regardless of citizenship, legal status, or ability to pay. Participating hospitals may not transfer or discharge patients needing emergency treatment except with the informed consent or stabilization of the patient or when their condition requires transfer to a hospital better equipped to administer the treatment."

I was lucky enough one day while still in nursing school and working PT at a local hospital to see this law work as designed. A young military couple presented to the small ER, where she was assessed as in active (really active!!!) labor, and sent upstairs to the delivery room area. They weren't from the area; they were traveling through on their way to his next base. I was instructed, as an aide, to help the husband sign in and fill out paperwork. I saw what she was doing as she was rushed by in a wheelchair to the delivery room, so told him "Hey, let's forget this paperwork for now, come with me and see your child be born!" He was all for that. I asked him if he was okay with witnessing delivery, so his young 20-something-yo self told me how he was in Iraq and saw terrible things, so he was okay with it. We went into the delivery room, where Mama was on the cusp. There was no time to give her any epi or other pain-relieving measures. I kept one eye on him and when I saw him start to crumple shoved a chair at him. He sat only briefly, to catch his wind, and then we saw their son be born. He was crying and so was I. The real hero though was Mrs. Soldier.... she gave out a few grunts and a couple of yells, and delivered a very healthy 10 lb little boy after only a couple of hours of labor, most of which happened in their car. A true soldier!
I was so impressed that no one gave them crap about their health insurance status.... everyone was focused on mom and bringing the passenger into this life.

Gee; that's a perfect description of what liberals have done with President Trump, ever since he was nominated.![]()
Yes, it is as american as apple pie, it's a constant in this society, we founded a nation upon it, partially.
the future is high tech -amazing you don't know this.Sure, let's import mathematicians and chemists to take our more highly-paid jobs. That's idiotic.
As for that "unskilled labor" -- do you know a single white American who wants to work in the orchards and fields, doing minimum wage gopher work on construction sites, changing soiled linens in hotels, etc.?
So you agree that the liberals are acting like "would-be tyrants"!!![]()
famine and poverty are not legal reasons for asylum? I never said it was a racist comment to start with. Did you read my response in #166?
The whole issue was about protecting immigrants from Haiti, El Salvador and African countries, who came here because of violence or famine or poverty. Norway doesn't have those problems but trump brought them into the discussion anyway.
da resistance started the day after trumps electionGuess my optimism springs eternal because I still long for a united country where hardly anyone suffers. One where we agree more than disagree and compromise and work together to bring back the America that was and could be again.

we have an excess supply of unskilled workers, and robotics make them less valuable (market) in the future

we are supposed to be doing that. Congress won't do anything. Then instead of importing ppl, let's open up some trade schools and get our own citizens up to speed.
and with it any chance for change. Thanks, Dr. Obvious.

There a re couple of candidates for Fl.Governor who say the same,
but the insane focus is still shoving everyone into liberal arts.
Immigration needs to be changed from "chain" to skill based (merit)
good descriptions. I agree with everything you write here. Look to the governors for changeCongress won't do jack shit till the people demand it. Why aren't we demanding it? Because for many, many decades now trade skills have been looked down on as inferior to "thinking" skills, i.e. a college-based education. I grew up in a suburb of St. Louis which was still in transition from mostly farming to a bedroom community for highly-educated and -compensated ppl. Our school district had a vo-tech program. Some kids would attend academic classes half the day, then be bused to the vo-tech school to learn stuff like plumbing, electrician work, nurses aide, cook/chef, carpentry, auto mechanics, etc. The college-bound kids made snotty remarks about them not being very smart. What parent wants his kid to go to a vo-tech school as opposed to a university? We need to remove the stigma of trade schools and make them as well-staffed and well-funded as traditional colleges.
ETA: I agree with your comment about merit-based chain migration.
