Amazon workers pee into bottles out of fear of being punished for taking bathroom bre

It is not "Russiaphobia," but given Russian media is State control, recognized as largely propaganda, I don't think I would look to it as a credible source

There is an obvious reason you couldn't find any US coverage, and I noticed you didn't address my point that prior to the President's personal attacks on Amazon conservatives had no opinion on Amazon, must be a coincident that now they are even reaching out to dubious sites to find dirt on the company
JFC I wasn't going to go searching further..I scan ALL KINDS of sites every day.
It caught my eye because of WORKING CONDITIONS not some geo-political struggle. Or Trump's revenge or the rest of these conflations..what kind of company penalizes for bathroom breaks?

From your link...

Amazon disputed the allegations. The company said in a statement to Business Insider:

"Amazon provides a safe and positive workplace for thousands of people across the UK with competitive pay and benefits from day one. We have not been provided with confirmation that the people who completed the survey worked at Amazon and we don't recognize these allegations as an accurate portrayal of activities in our buildings.

"We have a focus on ensuring we provide a great environment for all our employees and last month Amazon was named by LinkedIn as the 7th most sought after place to work in the UK and ranked first place in the US. Amazon also offers public tours of its fulfilment centres so customers can see first-hand what happens after they click 'buy' on Amazon."

Amazon said it didn't time workers' toilet breaks and set its performance targets based on previous worker performance. The company said it provided coaching to help people improve and used "proper discretion" when it came to sick leave and absences from work.

RT again, but this caught my eye.
I had a boss like this once -i quit- but apparently they have to do this to meet their goals

WTF?

Yes, I did:
According to James Bloodworth, who applied for a job at Amazon’s warehouses in Staffordshire to complete his book on low wages in the UK, the workers “picking” products for delivery do not go to toilet, as it is too far away. “For those of us who worked on the top floor, the closest toilets were down four flights of stairs. People just peed in bottles because they lived in fear of being disciplined over 'idle time' and losing their jobs just because they needed the loo,” Bloodworth said, as quoted by the Sun.

It's highly misleading but we all know where you're going with this and what your agenda is. You're not as clandestine as you think you are.

iu

ive been to factories and call centers they all impose very strict metrics on how much time you hav to use the restroom. I dont doubt amazon has the same metric for their warehouse.

It can usually be backed up with other reputable American sources as I just showed with this story.

"Usually?" Does that mean often or some of the time? Even a broken clock is correct twice a day, sorry, I think most have a pretty good understanding of the credibility of Russian sites

Now I happen to agree that RT is little more than a Russian government propaganda site so I take what they say with a large grain of salt. I also happen to love Amazon and will use them regardless of their politics.

However here is an article from November last year speaking about this issue and referencing the BBC going undercover and finding deplorable conditions for Amazon workers overseas. Ultimately that sucks, I don't want to see workers put in this position. But its not going to stop me from using Amazon.

From a political perspective start a post about Walmart and you'll get people acting very righteous about how bad they pay/treat workers and people shouldn't shop there etc. Ask those same people about Amazon and they'll say nothing. Why is that? We can strongly guess because of the politics of the company.

Amazon workers reveal brutal conditions in pre-Christmas rush

I suspect many other companies that hire blue collar workers have similar policies.
Far cry from peeing in bottles, don't you think?
If you're a Trump bootlicker who's advancing the narrative that Amazon is some evil entity, you're going to have a tough time convincing rational, sane people.
Other Trump sycophants might fall for it though.

With the destruction of unions in America, the workers power is fading away. The corporations can give the profits to the execs and stockholders while taking away workers rights and benefits., The Repubs have fought long and hard for this and idiots back them instead of unions. It shows that people will vote against their own interests if the propaganda is good enough and relentless enough.

The service economy is different than the industrial economy. We are in the information age. If we can eliminate technological progress we can go back to a more industrial time where unions were needed.

Amazon gives their workers a minimum of a 1/2 hour a shift for doing things like going to the bathroom, getting water, or other personal things. Some departments give more than that. And when you're not doing those personal things, they expect you to do the work that they're suppose to be doing. Imagine that!

This is so silly, my friend works for Amazon in Nevada and loves her job. She says it’s the best company she has ever worked at.

Do you think that makes everything else reported about Amazon mistreating and not paying their employees well untrue?

Edit: I'm not saying your friend is wrong. Just that in a firm with tens of thousands of employees does one person saying they love it mean it's the same for all others?

Hello archives,

And you don't find it strange that suddenly Russian television has an interest in the working conditions of an American company that the President conincidently has just personally attacked?

Sure it is about the Don, as I said two months ago you and probably 99% of all conservatives had zero thoughts regarding Amazon, yet today your copying and pasting Russian sites attacking that very same industry, your sudden interest in Amazon wasn't divine intervention

A good observation.

Russia is trying to help Trump gain approval in order to maintain the chaos and polarization in the USA for as long as possible.

But this may actually have the opposite effect. If it leads to better working conditions for Amazon workers, that makes America greater. It is ridiculous that Bezos is so rich and his workers are afraid to drink water on the job so they won't have to go pee. I believe they are under unreasonable pressure to increase productivity levels. I recall a story a while back about USA Amazon stationing ambulances outside one of their warehouses in the summer because it got to be 110 degrees in there and people could not keep up the pace, but tried anyway until some of them dropped from heat exhaustion and had to be carted off. They also had more people on call to replace the ones who dropped.

At some point we have to say that capitalism's push for more profits goes too far. How rich does one guy have to be before he has 'enough?' What is the point of that, really? After one has way more money than they would ever need to have everything they could ever want to buy in one lifetime why do they need more money?

At some point you have to figure that if all this money doesn't make the guy happy nothing will.

Bezos: Chill OUT, dude! Why not kick back and enjoy life? What the heck would it hurt ya to give your workers a better deal? So what if you raked in cash at a slower pace? It's not the end of the world. You could be very popular by easing up, and still make good money.

I am wondering if it might be a good idea to have every corporation revert to an employee-owned plan upon the death of it's originator.

How does it help us to let the rich buy and sell companies?

Usually, whenever that happens people get laid off.

Of course you realize "RT" is a Russian site

Kinda interesting how the Don attacks Amazon over personal animosities and the right wing media and Trumpkins chime in on cue, two months ago you probably had zero thoughts regarding Amazon

Also noteworthy that I can't remember any prior President initiating an extended personal vendetta against a private industry in the United States, yet this President has done it on a number of occasions, something unethical there, definitely a reason it wasn't done before this

putin and Donny hate books

How do you take a company worth hundreds of billions and just give it to the employees?
