trump fought installing sprinklers

Hello cawacko,

I don't like Trump and I think he's a sh*thead but it's not because he followed the law like every other property owner did. Extreme partisanship makes people really stupid

OK, first of all you make it sound like a choice between following the law and not. No. That's not it. Following the law means if you don't, your building does not pass inspection and you can't sell units. Following the law could just as easily be described as: 'I would have used cheaper materials but the inspectors made me use the minimum requirement.'

Secondly, we are not talking about following the law or not. We are talking about a choice of doing only the bare minimum required where safety is concerned, or doing something extra because you care about people, and you believe they will appreciate it. When somebody does that, we get the idea they are a really good person that we are glad we did business with. But nobody feels like that after doing business with Trump. Unless it is a crooked Russian oligarch who needs to launder a ton of dirty cash and can find a desperate deeply indebted American who can't get any credit anywhere else and is foolish enough to think he can get away with such a stinky skeleton in his closet and endure the scrutiny of being president.

Codes are what they are when the building is built or the last major renovation happened. Some people will not renovate old buildings because it will cost too much to bring them up to current code, especially if they were built in the age of lead-paint or asbestos. My house is generally fine, but it would not be up to current code at least because I do not have hard-wired smoke detectors. I only have 2. One is in the laundry room over the dryer and the other one is on the shelf in the laundry room beside the dryer because I really don't feel like I need it elsewhere other than the kitchen and then it would be going off every time I used my cast-iron grill pan.

I am a life long Republican who did not vote for Trump. I do not like him as a person. What's being shown in this thread though is serious TDS. You and a few others cannot see the forest for the trees because of your Trump obsession.

Find one owner of the millions of multi-family properties across the country that were grandfathered in that paid to have sprinklers put in. Just one. I know folks here don't work in real estate and it shows.

Exactly. There's a lack of a big picture concept here and how these things work.

Oh I could go on and on about the idiocy of some of it, especially the effects of laying a historical or similar strict zoning regimen on top of the need to bring buildings up to current code leading to even more blight than we already have in some places, but that is another topic for another thread. My uncle who is the mayor of his city agrees with me completely but then adds, "But I keep my mouth shut because I am not stirring up that hornet's nest only to be stung to death."

Find one who didn't. It's just as absurd.

That information is not readily available.

You've been making an assumption which is not verifiable, claiming to know that property owners have not installed sprinklers where it has not bee required for them to do so. I challenge you to present any evidence supporting your unverifiable claim.

you will begin realizing why I call these people names

they lie right into the face of facts

they seek the distruction of this nation

they deserve to be publically shamed non stop for their lies

It's not verifiable to know which buildings in cities across America don't have sprinklers? Every City has that information.

Find one who didn't? Trump's building. My building in SF. Would you like me to list addresses of thousands of buildings in SF that don't have sprinklers?

It's not your fault if you don't work in real estate and don't understand this.
