Democrats begin GUN CONFISCATION in Illinois

"It is no longer a conspiracy theory spawned by deplorable bitter clingers, but a creeping reality spawned by shootings law enforcement could have prevented but didn't. The Illinois House has passed legislation requiring 18- to 20-year-olds to give up certain legally purchased and legally owned firearms:

Yep; they cannot sweep this one under the carpet. Give them enough time, and they will confiscate all privately owned weapons. That is the goal and only liars and willful idiots can claim otherwise.

Can't see anything wrong with taking guns away from Chicago gangbangers.

Unfortunately that is NOT what is going to happen. The only one's who will lose their rights are the law abiding. You see, CRIMINALS don't concern themselves with LAWS now do they?

Do you think LE is intentionally allowing these shootings? We know they want more gun control, so perhaps not acting on what they know might be a mass shooting, will inspire more gun regulation.

Try reading the link provided by the OP

Try not lying. Jim Oberweis did NOT vote for the final iteration of this ban. Nice try liar.

SPRINGFIELD - The Senate passed gun-control legislation March 14 that does little to address the root causes of gun violence, but instead threatens Second Amendment rights guaranteed by the Constitution to lawful gun owners, according to State Sen. Jim Oberweis (R-Sugar Grove).

Oberweis supported House Bill 1467 but did not support House Bill 1465 and House Bill 1468.

House Bill 1467 bans "bump stocks" and similar devices allowing semi-automatic rifles to mimic full-auto fire. It also allows local governments to enact their own assault weapons bans. Oberweis supported House Bill 1467, which passed the Senate by a 37-16-3 vote.

chicago law enforcement doesn't seem to care about the gang violence, probably because the chicago mob in the city elected offices are getting kickbacks from the major gangs there, but they will most definitely crack down on regular citizens with guns because it takes away from their job security and power.

WTF do you know

Asshole, I directed you to your own phyucking post and it links to the American Thinker who said Oberweis did vote for the legislation. So shove that up your stinking glory hole.

Hey, dummy, it says no such thing. He supported 1467, NOT 1465 or 1468. You're either a liar, or just stupid. Frankly, it's probably the latter.

"I had initially signed on as a sponsor of House Bill 1465, with some assurance that there would be changes that would not allow guns to be taken from anyone who already legally owned them," Oberweis said. "But an 'affirmative defense' is a far cry from not having your weapons taken away. You get accused, perhaps arrested, and pay the expenses of going to trial. It is not acceptable."

House Bill 1465 bans possession of rifles by anyone younger than 21. The bill does create several conditions for an affirmative defense to a charge that must be proven at trial, but it does not creates exceptions to the offense. Oberweis did not support House Bill 1465, which passed the Senate by a 33-22-2 vote.

House Bill 1468 establishes a 72-hour waiting period for semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic shotguns, semi-automatic pistols, and .50 caliber rifles. It also bans the sale of these firearms to non-residents at gun shows. Oberweis did not support House Bill 1468, which passed the Senate by a 43-15-0 vote.
