Guns make for a more civilized society

As I mentioned, I was relating the law as it was when we lived there (Missouri). I am unfamiliar with the gun permitting/carrying laws in our current state (Michigan). I have seen signs posted for concealed carry classes here, which makes me think that there is still a requirement to take a course to get a CC permit, but I don't know for sure.

Now, here's an idea.

Try educating yourself, BEFORE you decide to comment. :good4u:

Been hearing that "free will" and "personal responsibility" crap for decades now and we still got 30,000+ people a year dying from gun violence, all abstractions used to justify inanity

Over 40,000 suicides per year.
Why aren't you worried about that?
Over 35,000 auto deaths a year.
Did you write your Congressman demanding safety standards for cars inprove.
Over 1500 police shooting deaths per year.
Should the police lose their guns?
Do you even know anyone shot by a non-criminal?
5 of my pals decided to share an apartment in Manhattan. They all came back in coffins having been shot to death in their apartment in the city with the strickest gun laws in the country.

I see you appear to be trying to equate the 40,000 suicides with firearms, when that number isn't even close.

Were you convicted of the murders or did you get off scot free?

Heart disease and Cancer surpass auto deaths. We actually have established laws to make cancer less likely. That includes EPA actions on air and laws about cigarettes. We expect our government to make us safer. Like preamble says" we promote the general welfare". We should have drastic limitations of guns.

We do.
There are thousands of gun laws

We should have drastic limitations of guns.

How do you plan to amend the Constitution to accomplish this? I fully support the Dems making the abolishment of guns a top priority. You should make it a part of your official party platform. Get busy and make it happen Cap'n. Or are you all bluster and no action?

You probably should have undergone a background check from a licensed dealer and paid said dealer a fee for each gun and been required to take an 8 hour gun safety course. Plus show proof that you had working trigger locks, a gun safe to store them in and liability insurance for them. And get registered in a database. Oh, and adhere to whatever other rules people come up with. All before you could inherit your deceased husband's gun collection. Amarite??? :good4u:

Yep, she is likely in illegal possession of a bunch of unregistered guns but thinks no one else should own legal guns.
Libs are hypocritical on guns.

Try reading my post slower, maybe you will figure out what my point actually is.

Why would you comment then?
Give Billy a PM as he suggested.
He will help you sort out the mess you are in and do it legally. I would help you but he lives in your state and knows all the intricacies involved.

Huh? Are you confusing me with someone else? I'm not in any "mess" nor concerned about whatever "legally" you're talking about. Who is Billy anyways?

Oh okay, thanks. What exactly is it that Rune thinks you need to fix? I looked at a couple other posts and get the idea that he thinks my guns are unregistered. They were all registered at time of purchase, and my late husband had a permit to own as well. Mr. Owl informs me that there is no legal requirement for me to seek any further registration or permits.

Well if you bought them in MO and now live in MI then no, they are not registered here. That's technically a misdemeanor, though it's about as minor as it gets here. Also, didn't you mention wanting to sell them? Because I offered to help someone with that here.
