Comey wrote her exoneration letter before the investigation was even complete and the now proven anti-Trump pro-Clinton rabid partisan Peter Strzok changed the term "gross negligence" to "extreme carelessness" in order to avoid the exact wording of the statute.

Peter Strzok conducted the Flynn interview and if Mueller failed to inform his attorneys why Strzok was fired then he is guilty of prosecutorial misconduct.

Mueller and his team is walking the line on being proven useless.
When you are supposed to be an independent council set up to investigate someone, or something, you can not have some of your chief investigating personnel publically sending out emails displaying their personal bias against the people being or persons being investigated.

Like Comey Mueller is no longer a trusted source, he has to go, or if they insist, he stays and nothing he finds holds up in court.

If you’re Mueller and you know the investigation will never get past Logan act violations or process crimes, one way to save face is to get fired by Trump.

If I were him I’d let it play out. Especially, with the recent revelations of institutional bias in the FBI.
