No producers, no market lol.

The heroin producers are no less guilty than the drug pushers on the street. The same holds true with the European slave trade: it took both consumers and suppliers. Take away either element, and it wouldn’t have existed.

ALL races share in the ancestral guilt of slavery—-it’s not just a ‘white thing’. That’s the unvarnished and politically incorrect truth.

Why people obsess over such things is beyond me. All the principal actors are long gone.

1) While those four states technically stayed in the union, all four were border states that were split between union and confederate. The James and Youngers all fought for the confederacy. Just some of the more infamous examples.

2) Union generals having slaves prior to the start of the war didn't mean they weren't fighting to end the issue of slavery.

3) Just because Lincoln asked Lee to lead the Union forces doesn't mean they weren't fighting to end slavery.

While it was in part a states right 'fight'... the main issue at the time the states wanted the 'right' to determine was SLAVERY.

I'll confront the past right now. The first slaves brought to what is now the USA were purchased by the ENGLISH. In Jamestown. In the early 1600's.

I have yet to see a modern Hollywood film where the true extent of slave trading by African tribes or Arabs has ever been highlighted. I also doubt that with the PC nature of modern US education that it is mentioned in anything but a cursory manner. Indeed universities with their safe spaces, micro-aggressions and trigger warnings are hardly likely to dwell on it either for fear of offending the snowflakes.
