Yes indeed, he is jumping on a bandwagon. I predicted that there would be a witch hunt and so it has transpired. We in the UK know what happened after Jimmy Savile, the police went effing crazy for several years.

Actually I was reading several gay writers who were pissed off at Spacey for coming out in his apology and they mentioned separately they had no problem outing people who they felt worked against the gay community.

I'm not gay so I can't really speak to that being right or wrong but to at least a couple of gay writers there can be appropriate times to out someone fwiw.
