"Right now it’s a season of war against a GOP establishment,” - Steve Bannon

So fighting is ok?

Yes.

Merriam-Webster dictionary

Fight (verb)

1: to contend in battle or physical combat; especially :to strive to overcome a person by blows or weapons - "The soldiers fought bravely."
2: to put forth a determined effort - "They were fighting to stay awake."

I am not speaking of you specifically, but I always find it remarkable how poorly educated and dim witted Trump voters are.

Words have actual meanings that are not subject to debate.

"Fight" is a perfectly appropriate word in politics, in civil rights struggles, in competition against competitors.

Look at all the war references we use in sports. We always hear about people "going into battle" or "this contest will be a war" or "those guys were soldiers today".

Is it surprising it gets used in politics as well?

Democrats and Republicans "have always been at war?"

War:
a state of armed conflict between different nations or states or different groups within a nation or state.
"Japan declared war on Germany"
synonyms: conflict, warfare, combat, fighting, (military) action, bloodshed, struggle; More
engage in a war.
"small states warred against each other"
synonyms: fight (against), battle (against), combat (against), wage war against, take up arms against

Democrats and Republicans "have always been at war?"
and you have lost again.....

Opposing politics isn't war, never was, and unless small minds like Bannon prevail, never will be

Civil war entails conflict, warfare, combat, fighting, bloodshed, etc, and in political terms, even beyond dissing the military, its only applicability would mean dogmatic, fanatical, insular, autocratic, authoritarian, etc.

I am at war against cockroaches, rats and Legion socks......

It's amusing you'd go on about supposedly dimwitted Trump supporters even as you fail to recognize a blatantly obvious metaphor lol.

Should we do away with 'battle ground states' in the next election? You never know, someone might take it literally.

Legion, does it offend you when national writers refer to civil wars within the republican and democratic parties? Or only when Bannon says it?
You're simplifying the problem. For 8 years, Norquist threatened any Republican who dared to work with Democrats.

That's humorous coming from a supporter of eight years of obstinate politics and one now afflicted with amnesia with debt/deficits as applied to the new Administration

Not at all. When have you ever heard me defend the debt?

And I have been equally hard on McCuntell and Ryan. If you can’t see that, it is on you

No matter what it's called, this cannot be good for the desperate Republican Party which is already facing huge losses in the coming midterms.

Bannon is so full of himself right now.

He's a radical. He thinks his vision is the future of America, but it's a fringe thought movement.

we dont really need a war. Both nationalists and establishment need to identify core and non-core issues we each want and those we can compromise on.

Really lol?

What are democrats going to run on?

Healthcare will probably be a huge issue. Fair tax reform. The environment. SCOTUS (most independent voters don't want a court that goes too far either way). Jobs.

Mostly, balanced government, which is also something most voters have gravitated toward traditionally. It's rare that one party has all of the power for too long.

Health care

Sane foreign policy and cooperation with our allies

Comparisons with the sanity of the Obama years compared to the insanity of Trump

Not being morons

I can think of several adjectives for Obama's foreign policy, incoherent would probably top the list lol.

By the time 2018 gets here Obamacare will likely be gone. Jobs will be a big issue and a tough sell for democrats if it means going back to putting climate change ahead of jobs or going back to less than 3.0 GDP. Only die hard lefties will want to go back to open border policy.

Democrats will have their work cut out for them.

yea? really?

and toss in disrespecting our flag, our veterans,
Dems refusing to address our border security, and offering no ideas on anything, Obstruct is the Dems motto.

good luck with that :rofl2:

That's a pretty partisan interpretation.

Mid-terms are rarely good for the party in power. And Trump's popularity outside of his base is extremely low.

It's only a year or so away. We'll know soon enough.
