"This is not a good-news story. This is a people-are-dying story."

Stretch has his cut & paste. And he's stickin' to it.

You have your whiny brain dead one-liners and you're sticking to it. Dunce.

Yep, we wouldn't want you liberal Trump hating retards to get any facts as you prattle on about things you know little to nothing about. Morons.

Could be kinda difficult if your house where you kept "a couple weeks worth of baby food & diapers & water" was completely destroyed to include the "couple weeks worth of baby food & diapers & water"
I can assure you they have even dug through rubble to find things of use. I can't believe how insensitive people are, especially when they proclaim to be Christians

Seriously, why do you keep insisting response was slow when you've been shown that aid began getting waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over there as quickly as 9/22? You've even had an eye-witness, 1st person account from Sailor who is there specifically for salvage ops since prior to Irma.

Until the last couple of days the supplies that were there never left the dock side containers, and large part of what has since arrived are waiting for space to unload due to the stalled containers. Federal Hurricane relief is depended upon a local infrastructure to begin dispersing supplies when they first arrive, however in this case, that infrastructure was totally destroyed. It wasn't till Wednesday that the needed administrative support from the Federal Gov't was established to logistically begin addressing those problems

What your overlooking, or just refusing to accept, is that the President, as the leader of the Nation, failed to even acknowledge in any significant way the destruction of Puerto Rico. As President, if he stresses an action, it gets done, but when he reacts apathetically, it sets the tone. And given what he did seem to see was the biggest concern for the Nation over last weekend adds another blunder attached to the Administration

I have to be fair here. Though the Secretaries comments may be considered insensitive the contrast between the responses of the Bush administration and Hurricane Katrina and the Trump administration and Hurricane Irma and Harvey are stark. Trump did not systematically undermine FEMA and other Federal Emergency response organization for ideological reasons then staffed what remained with unqualified personnel for patronage reasons. The Trump administrations response, by no means perfect, but what disaster response ever is, has been competent and affective. That's a far cry from what happened during and after Katrina during the Bush administration.

This prattle about Bush is a massive pile of garbage and continuing to stupidly blame Bush for what happened in New Orleans is the pinnacle of ignorance. I have to laugh when liberals think they are being "fair" about the facts.

Does Trump Even Know Puerto Ricans are Americans?

Trump boasts of doing 'an incredible job' in Puerto Rico, even as a mayor there pleads 'save us from dying'

President Trump on Friday continued to praise*his administration for*doing "an incredible job" responding to Puerto Rico's devastation, though millions*remain without power and*clean water nine days after Hurricane Maria.

“We have done an incredible job considering there is absolutely nothing to work with," Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a*weekend at his golf club in Bedminster, N.J.

Only moments after Trump's self-congratulatory remarks were broadcast, however, the mayor of San Juan was televised with a damning indictment of the U.S. government's treatment of the 3.5 million Americans on the island.

"I am begging anyone who can hear us to save us from dying," Carmen Yulin Cruz said into the cameras. She added, "We are dying and you are killing us with the inefficiency,"

Though Trump earlier this week cited Cruz in a tweet, thanking her for "your kind words" about the federal response, in fact*Cruz has been critical almost daily, saying officials are*moving too slowly.

The world was witnessing that Puerto Ricans are treated not as “second-class citizens,” Cruz said, “but as animals that can be disposed of.”

The contrast between Trump's optimistic take and*her cries for help, plus heart-rending coverage from Puerto Rico generally, contributed to a spreading perception of a president out of touch.
*
White House officials have pushed back hard against allegations the administration's Puerto Rico response*hasn't measured up to that in Texas and Florida after earlier hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

Why shouldn't he? The data is there to show that the response to these disasters has been massive and well organized. This has not even remotely the debacle that the Katrina disaster was.

...and Katrina was a disaster thanks to the stupidity of the Democratic Governor and Mayor of New Orleans. I do wish liberals could comprehend facts.

The electric company ripped off the people, with Rube Goldberg type power lines connecting communities.
They apparently owe a bunch of money. The government is broke from vast overspending..can't borow anymore

So I wonder if some fiscal housekeeping isn't called for as well as massive Disaster Zone spending.
They seriously need to harden their infrastructure for next time

I'm done, this is ridiculous, the response has been ineffective, Trump blew it and I have no more to say to you who don't see that the response was inadequate and slow. Government knew infrastructure is ruined and they did not respond with manpower and equipment to restore these things smoother aid could be carried out.

We will have to agree to disagree

9/22

All hurricane manpower and equipment didn't even get into Houston or Florida till maybe 2 days later. We all get it, we've been through it. You only imagine and wish hard with your emotions. And, I get that too. For anyone on the outside looking in, it's extremely frustrating because you haven't gone through it enough times...hope you never have to. It's life and "this too shall pass" is our motto.

Well, we disagree then, I think it has been slow and ineffective. I listen to the mayor and governor and they don't agree with you. I listen to Gen. Honore' and he doesn't agree with you, this is as bad as Katrina.

You don't "think" "C"ovferfeder, you emote stupidly and ignorantly. Dumbass.

^This is your brain on moron; don't be one.

OK, so now you deny dates supplied by CNN and other media and also the pictures.
It's insensitive to allow island dwellers to live in unprepared conditions. For all their dependence on the government there, they should have gone all the way and supplied each impoverished household with disaster kits and rations and taught those of means to do this as well on their own.

It's Christians who will be delivering tons of food, water and supplies there just as we do everywhere there is need.

...while the Governor praises him. Yep, libtards can't stand to give Trump any credit where it is due. It's what they do, lie, bitch, whine and lie some more.

Wow, for the past five days the conservatives have been getting a lot of mileage out of that one line from the Governor, which by the way one small part of what was said, but the facts aren't stopping 'em, sure we are all going to see it again, and again, and again, and again

Yes, you will. I'm taking bets on how long it'll be before the Governor claims he was misquoted. :rofl2:
