Hillary Clinton says the Electoral College 'needs to be eliminated'

Al Gore, George H. W. Bush, Gerald Ford, Walter Mondale (he knew he had no chance).
Almost none:
Jimmy Carter
The one with zero:
Hillary.

you completely ignore the role of the states in the balance of power. as I've stated the states do not have proportional representation in the House. They do in the Senate. The combination is the make up of Congress
Congress is the people's body. The EC is made up in the same fashion - it gives the states a role in electing POTUS too

Posters who know me from DCJ know I value process more then outcomes. I'd rather not see an executive order then impinged on Congressional purview even if i am in favor of the XO's goals.

It is precisely how our founders set us up moron. So yes... it is indeed done winner take all at the STATE level. Then each states votes go towards the national election based on their representation in Congress. What part of that are you having such a hard time with?

I know it's easy to say, but how do you know that? What I would have done is admitted it was a bad rule but said it is the current rule. Like that game the Raiders lost with the "tuck" rule. The right here is arguing that it is a good system. That's not defensible on any ground save the fact that "a deal is a deal." That is the only valid justification.

Electoral college gives too much say to underpopulated areas, the State of Wyoming with a population half the size of metropolitan Buffalo gets three electoral votes on its own and they are always going get three even if a couple of people live there

Underpopulated areas too much say? Without the bought and paid for voters in California, Hillary would have lost the popular vote by over 1 million.

The EC keeps the big population states like New York and California from deciding who the President of the United States is to be.

This is only an issue because the losers can't get their act together and move on.
