What about Trump got your vote?

There is an interesting psychology at work with stuff like this - it's not necessarily exclusive to one side of the political aisle, but it's certainly most pronounced w/ Trump.

I think most Trump voters were simply against Hillary, and wanted some sort of change. They knew how flawed and ridiculous Trump was as both a candidate and as a human being at one time. But something happens when people commit their vote to someone like that - psychologically, they tend to just go "all in," and try to justify their support with more than just a not-Hillary rationale. As time progresses, Trump becomes not just a "lesser of 2 evils" alternative. We see all of the MAGA and "winning" stuff that they're now regularly regurgitating, without much thought.

This is most visible in someone like Hannity. I remember when he was against Bush in 2000. Then, when Bush became the candidate, he was all in. Once the Iraq War happened, he was REALLY all in - he had to justify his support, so Bush became this guy who could practically do no wrong. Now, he has moved on, and routinely slams Bush & the Bush's in general, because Trump is the partisan icon du jour. And he is so in on Trump; his show is now nothing more than a Trump-defense fest.

In 5 years, guys like Hannity will be talking about Trump in much different terms.

ROFLMAO

You got it all figgered out. Well you think you do :)

The children are fine adults, if it's true it wasn't because of Donnie and his occassional phone calls.

I agree with this as it applies to people with a mental disorder. The Republicaine is afflicted with subpar cognition and hence inability to parse information and make reasoned decisions, therefore they are especially susceptible to the siren cries of an autocratic who can serve as decision maker, who functions as a surrogate brain. Upon witnessing the assorted alpha grunts and preening from the dumpy cheeto, they were congenitally and atavistically relieved of free will and so "decided" to follow Mr. Orangefluffy. At this point the bipolar disorder presents, and as you correctly diagnosed they are "all in." Thus with egos fully grafted to their new position on a candidate and ancillary policy noises and tics, Trump's obvious flaws are just so much vapor or effluvium, not readily discernable.

I appreciate that you provided reasons, but his business success was built on destroying small business owners & contractors, and he doesn't care a bit about America. Trump is about himself, solely.

And he didn't fund his own campaign.
Your opinion, which is no more valid than mine.

I voted for Trump because he is the first candidate that not only saw the deterioration of this country from illegals massing our population, but has the balls to do something about it,
He understands our economy and what it means to have corporations incentivized to keep jobs in America, he believes in lowering taxes, mainly because Washington pisses whatever you give them away anyway, so give them less, duhh.
I've listened to the last four presidents say they were going to do something about the horrid state of affairs at the VA, and he actually had a plan to fix it.
He understands the importance of our constitution and the beauty of it's historic impact over and over on keeping this country for the people, by the people so I knew he would appoint Supreme Court Justices that believed that too.
And no small thing he is NOT Hillary Clinton, and the first family he would bring to the WH is smoking hot.

What has being of the establishment brought the country ?
The economy is revving, optimism rising... What he does not bring to the table is just what the doctor ordered.

Obama did the revving and optimism. Trump hasn't done anything but ride Obama's cresting wave. Time to paddle out fat boy, and surf your own wave.

This has been asked and answered many times. Apparently GayRod has electricity back and everyone around him is back to normal and doesn't need his help because he has plenty of time to post here today

Still no electricity, thanks!

Honest question for Rumppers, what about him caused you to be attracted? Why did you chose to vote for him? What polities of his do you support?

this is actually hilarious. do you really think you're going to get any more of a logical response about this than you would from someone trying to tell us that hillary was the most qualified candidate ever? it's all bullshit, dude.

You can't really dispute it, quite obviously. I'm sure some of that rings true for you - your transition hasn't been as dramatic as Hannity's, but it's there.

As usual you are wrong but I haven't the energy to sway you from your delusions. As I said you have it all figgered out. And if this keeps you off the streets and away from sane people

I'm trying, was in a bad mood about it yesterday but had a few drinks and good night sleep, better today!

Hopefully they will be getting the power on soon! They're working hard. There were like 290k out of power here in N. Fl and they have all but 70k back on as of today.
