Pope takes sides in a science debate

Oh please, give me a break. You left out the part where I said I never pretended to be a devout Catholic... like some here do... but that didn't fit your narrative. I may take your comments under advisement after you've also criticized your right-wing pals for their cafeteria beliefs, otherwise you're just being selective.

So you admit you aren't devout. Am I supposed to be surprised?

What I do or don't do has no bearing on what you are responsible for to your own conscience, to your fellow humans, or to God.

If I waited for others to exhibit perfection before I corrected myself I would never try, which seems to be your position.

Cliff Notes version: I'm only interested in criticizing christie. :rofl2:

Btw... "you are responsible for to" ...is that actual grammar? :D

I noticed that you didn't attempt to refute the truth of my comment.

It seems that you don't accept gentle correction well, is that right?

Listen to that still, small voice in your heart tonight and pray on it.

Let me keep this simple for you: There is no "AGW debate".

AGW is at this point settled science, although as with any settled science, there are always questions around the margins and questions about the ultimate impacts. Indeed, there is still much to learn, and many questions to be answered about evolution and natural selection, even though the broad outlines have been settled science for well over a century.

Global warming is also one of the major environmental, social, and economic issues of our generation, even arguably the defining issue of our generation. What we do - or do not do - now, will have lasting consequences, perhaps even dire consequences.

As one of the leading spiritual and philosophical leaders of humanity, is it well within reason for the Pope to make statements about global warming and other threats to the environment of our planet.
Revenge Science

It is an inconvenient truth that you would be embarrassed to introduce these goofy geek scientists to any non-cultist associate as normal human beings. It was not their fault they were designed to be emotionally immature escapists weirdos, but when they start being proud of their inadequate personalities and take out their bitterness on practical materialistic normal people for shunning and shaming them, they become enemies of the human race.

In order to compensate for being cowardly weaklings, they have a desperate need to join a conceited bossy cult that promises to make them comic-book superheroes out to save the world. All this is what makes their science so dishonest and distorted, no matter how much you try to present them as disinterested, disembodied angels who deal only in facts.

Only if I respect that the corrector has my best interests at heart. You, not so much.

Why shouldn't I believe it?

How did those kangaroos and koalas travel all the way from Turkey to Australia without mating until they arrived?

He said he has no reason to doubt it. :palm: He should have just said I have no reason. At least the Pope can infuse his irrational magical thinking with some real world science in fits and starts, including poverty and global warming.

As someone said earlier, it's a sides issue.. If you are on one side you must deny it as part of your group ID..........

For the time being at least, the Democratic party allows some variation of opinions e.g. you can be religious or irreligious and be a Democrat. The Republican party has long held a strategic advantage in "party discipline." Democratic party to me stands for positive change by accretion within the system apparatus. Republican used to be the party of policy retrenchment and maintenance of the existing order, whatever that might be at the time. A yin yang /brakes gas situation, resulting in slow progress. Now, all bets are off, gloves are off.

Goldwater warned them & Reagan allowed them in the front door & now you have anti-gay rights, abortion & climate change denial as being "conservative issues"..........
