"Trump: Tax reform can create ‘millions of jobs"

I'm curious if anyone can conceive of limited government.

Before tobacco had to be handled by the FDA
and not treated as a traditional drug like alcohol is regulated by the states.
Before my doctor could prescribe pain management without the DEA cutting 25% of pain pills this year

There are so many examples of government excess scope and overreach

Perhaps the prescription drug problem has something to do w/ it??

Would you prefer drug companies just sell to everyone as they have need/want??

Bigger question would be why some Republicans, especially conservative Republicans, still buy into the fallacy?

Because it's not really about jobs. Never has been, never will be.

If anyone has been paying attention, George Dumbya Bush's multiple tax cuts resulted in what? Negligible job gains, and a Great Republican Recession.

And do we even need to rehash the disaster the much touted Kansas "supply side" tax cuts Brownback instituted in Kansas? I think not, that tax cut disaster speaks for itself.

I will tell you why rightwingers cling to the tax cut fallacy, and it's not really about supply side theory or any of that shit. A rightwinger wants to reduce taxes, because they think any taxes they send to Washington will inevitably be spent on the lazy, underserving "darkies" and other undesirables.

You don't even have to take my word for it. This board probably has two billion posts with rightwingers wailing about "the darkies" voting to get free stuff, and to take money away from "the job creators".

It's all about racial resentment folks.

Your leftism is actually bankrupting Illinois, and will eventually do the same to California. Absolutely zero comparison to your criticisms of the right and Kansas.

"President Donald Trump touted his party’s tax reform push on Tuesday and argued that an overhaul that adequately reduced taxes on businesses will “create millions of new jobs.”

“We're going to reduce taxes for companies, and those companies are going to produce jobs,” Trump said in the White House, where he gathered with Republican leaders to talk taxes. “Tax reform that follows these principles will create millions of new jobs and ensure that more products are stamped with the very beautiful letters and words, ‘Made in the U.S.A.’”

How many years, hell, decades, have we been hearing the same robotic talking point from Republican politicians?

You cut corporate tax and all the extra revenue gets paid out in dividends not reinvested in jobs

Bigger question would be why some Republicans, especially conservative Republicans, still buy into the fallacy?

You fell for Obamacare, which was a failure from the beginning, and dare talk down something that actually works.

Obamacare from your black President wasn't about healthcare. It was about control. Too bad so many of you entitlement minded POS want to be controlled.

Psssssst

Not sure if you knew this or not, but drug companies don't sell anything directly to the public. Just thought you would like to know

we did the same tax cuts in Michigan and it worked out fine.......guess you need to look and see what the real problem in Kansas was.......maybe they forgot to cut spending like they needed to......

close.....but some of you undesirables aren't dark......guess that means its less a racist thing and more an anti-lib'rul thing........oh my gosh, its so refreshing to be able to get the truth out for once!..........

of course. But the supply being mindlessly cut - who does that hurt but the patients?

so called "diversion" isn't the problem as described by the Center for Disease Control.

Yet the DEA comes in with it's desire ( reducing diversion by reducing supply) -
even though supply isn't the real problem ( cheap heroin is).

AND

All this makes it impossible for a GP to work with a patient for their needs -instead they write according to the idea of cutting prescriptions.

You really need to up your general mistrust of bureaucrats. They don't give a damn about people -just their power

Good lord man, are you really pointing to Michigan as a model of economic growth for the nation? Have you thanked Obama for bailing out Michigan and the auto industry with his Kenyan-Marxist economic policies?

Also can't help noticing you did not disagree that there are about two billion posts on this board in which the main grievance rightwingers have about taxes is that "the darkies" are always voting to "get free stuff" with other people's taxes?

Taxes and the Economy: An Economic Analysis of the Top Tax Rates Since 1945
U.S. Congressional Research Service Report

A Congressional Study of 65 Years of Tax Cuts Shows They Are Uncorrelated with Economic Growth

The results of the analysis suggest that changes over the past 65 years in the top marginal tax rate and the top capital gains tax rate do not appear correlated with economic growth. The reduction in the top tax rates appears to be uncorrelated with saving, investment, and productivity growth. The top tax rates appear to have little or no relation to the size of the economic pie. However, the top tax rate reductions appear to be associated with the increasing concentration of income at the top of the income distribution. As measured by IRS data, the share of income accruing to the top 0.1% of U.S. families increased from 4.2% in 1945 to 12.3% by 2007 before falling to 9.2% due to the 2007-2009 recession. At the same time, the average tax rate paid by the top 0.1% fell from over 50% in 1945 to about 25% in 2009. Tax policy could have a relation to how the economic pie is sliced—lower top tax rates may be associated with greater income disparities.

How is "leftism" bankrupting Illinois, which has a republican governor?

huh.gif

It would be a regressive tax, there is a reason the Income Tax started as a progressive tax, and fall way short of meeting necessary Gov't funding
Average cost for a new vehicle is $25k. That's average, with trucks coming in around $40k. They already have a sales tax. Adding another tax on top makes it pretty hard to afford a vehicle.

Especially given the pittance of a tax saving the middle class would get with the eradication of marginal taxes.

Did you think economies turn around in six months? It was the Obama Administration that led to today's resurgence, and considering from it started back in 2009, it has been a slow but creditable accomplishment

Keep puckering up to his black ass.

An honest Republican at last: tax policy is not about economic growth, or jobs. It is about keeping undeserving people from for "voting for free stuff".

I should also point out the massive goal post moving you and other wingnuts have tried to pivot too.

For many years, the con Mantra was that "tax cuts pay for themselves"

So why did you pivot to saying the only work if there are massive cuts to education, infrastructure, and/or other social programs??

I mean, why not just be honest from the start? If you want tax cuts for the rich, just say that you need to slash or defund education, highways, infrastructure, medicaid, and other societal needs.
