maybe being there to protest without violence concerning the statue is at least an exercise in right to assemble.
But whatever Trump said- it looks to me like the antifa was armed to the teeth. That is not a peaceful protest

Here are some other things that are astonishing in his post and it isn't the first time I have seen this argument, so it tells me that the left feels the backlash and are now entering into another alternative universe of Orwellian rewriting of history

1) The so called neo nazis who had a permit to protest were supposedly there to cause violence according to Mutt, except that there is no evidence of them being violent until the Antifa crowd got in their faces
2) Mutt seems to be implying that these so called neo nazis are so repugnant that they should be stripped of their first amendment rights to assemble
3) Mutt also seems to be implying that Antifa is now just a group of "concerned citizens". You know they are just like the Rotary Club. Below is an article from Peter Beinart who is no Trump fan. And this was written pre Charlottesville. Almost as a prelude

So Mutt approves of people taking the law into their own hands. If the so called neo nazis were committing violence shouldn't Antifa have left the Police to deal with it? Isn't that what leftists like Mutt claim is preferable? Mutt seems to be defending violence as long as the target is justifiably abhorrent.

Several preacher and others have stated that Antifa saved their lives. They said they don't encourage violence, but were grateful that Antifa stepped in when they did.
