Are Confederate soldiers considered US vets?

I mean, this is where we're at. Not even a full year into Trump's tenure.

His supporters vehemently arguing for the honor of a treasonous army that fought to preserve one of the most evil & damaging institutions in history.

Reconstruction was a terrible plague sent on the south..
Lincoln wanted none of it -he always wanted the Union made whole as quickly as possible -without needless punishment.
But we eventually got through it,and eventually the south had to get rid of Jim Crow
( which was their continuing evil)

The leaders of the confederacy were completely unambiguous about preserving slavery and keeping "the negro in his place" as significant reasons for fighting the Civil War. Secessionist statements from various states also clearly indicated that preserving slavery was paramount. There was no confusion about it.

You'll have to do better than "idiot leftist" to rewrite that history.
 
Just because they became American veterans retroactively doesn't mean they should be celebrated with statues. When people in your country fight for an ideal as bad as slavery do you really want to honor their "sacrifice"?

not just because-yes, but the statues showed the previous generations desire to honor the soldiers.

That coupled with them being US vets, and the fact they were quickly integrated back into society shows the statues should remain,and the vets were honorable in service

Chris Cantwell has stated more people will die, there is now a warrant out for his arrest. He is crying over it, not such a tough guy now. I wonder if he will have a cell by himself till he can get bail? Wonder if he will wear one of his cute little tshirts?
