President Trump made building a wall along the southern U.S. border and forcing Mexico to pay for it core pledges of his campaign.

But in his first White House call with Mexico’s president, Trump described his vow to charge Mexico as a growing political problem, pressuring the Mexican leader to stop saying publicly that his government would never pay.

“You cannot say that to the press,” Trump said repeatedly, according to a transcript of the Jan. 27 call obtained by The Washington Post. Trump made clear that he realized the funding would have to come from other sources but threatened to cut off contact if Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto continued to make defiant statements.

The funding “will work out in the formula somehow,” Trump said, adding later that “it will come out in the wash, and that is okay.” But “if you are going to say that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, then I do not want to meet with you guys anymore because I cannot live with that.”

He described the wall as “the least important thing we are talking about, but politically this might be the most important.”

A 70% reduction in illegal border crossing, deportations, illegals leaving, that alone will help pay for the wall.
Telling Nieto “You cannot say that to the press,” isn't begging, it is stating a fact.
You see how anyone, including simple little me, can twist words to fit the need?
You guys seem to desperate and petty, it is getting really sad.

So, you believe Trump's crazy tweets and comments to foreign leaders don't affect policies? What do you think the Mexican President thought of Trump's statement?

How does people leaving the country pay for a billion dollar wall?

Believe the point of the post is that the President ran on a tough guy approach toward Mexico, his policy being Mexico was going to pay, and the first contact he had with Mexico he nearly begged the President of Mexico not to bring up the topic of what he promised the American voter

If they pay, that is. I am not talking about documented guest workers, but under the table illegals. Some like up to three in a bunk bed around here, taking shifts, and are sending home every penny they can spare. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them but our system that allows this to happen. These people live in deplorable circumstances, they are used and abused, nobody cares when they get hurt. It breaks my heart. I rather see them come in through an improved immigration policy, so that they have rights and privileges like the rest of us.
