BREAKING: Trump begged Mexican prez to stop damaging him politically

No, but a wall does need to be manned and maintained, what will those costs be?

Not only does it need to be manned and maintained, but those employees need to be trained, they get expensive benefits including paid vacations, sick leave, insurance etc. There needs to be an administrative and personnel dept to oversee the hiring, training, firing etc.

And given how long the wall will be, there will have to be thousands of FEDERAL employees sucking up hundreds of millions a year.

It's an absurd idea that never had a snowball's chance in hell of coming to pass and only fools ever believed to begin with.

Well paying jobs and revenue should make it worthwhile in the long run.

Oh, so now adding thousands of Federal employees to the gub'mint payroll is suddenly OK with the same r/w nutjobs who've traditionally ranted and raved against hiring Federal employees.

The hypocrisy of Trumptard dumbfucks is indescribable.

If they pay, that is. I am not talking about documented guest workers, but under the table illegals. Some like up to three in a bunk bed around here, taking shifts, and are sending home every penny they can spare. Don't get me wrong, I don't blame them but our system that allows this to happen. These people live in deplorable circumstances, they are used and abused, nobody cares when they get hurt. It breaks my heart. I rather see them come in through an improved immigration policy, so that they have rights and privileges like the rest of us.
Illegal workers pay billions in SS taxes, that doesn't include legal migrant workers. Do you have a figure on what they send home?

I believe he was talking about jobs in general, for Americans that would have otherwise gone to illegals, who would now be stopped by said wall.

You really need to pay attention, it's hard to talk with knee jerk

Americans don't want and will not do the vast majority of the jobs that will go unfilled due to a shortage of unskilled, seasonal labor that has traditionally been supplied by migrant workers from Mexico.

America will soon learn that the hard way, thanks to the idiot, Trumpsucking right

It's called a guest worker program, a monitored guest worker program. You come here to work, documented for whatever period of time we set, then you go home.
We may even be able to set up some sort of benefits programs for them through the employer, a regulated, fair, legal policy.

You're missing a lot of great idea conversation while you have your ears plugged with $hit

In the past, they have declined regardless of the pay.

Some growers report how Americans take well paying field hand jobs, work half a day then don't come back after lunch.

Too back breaking and they can't handle it.

The number has declined, but it has not stopped.

True, and it won't until incentives that are in favor of illegal immigrants and corporate greed are curbed. I read a story about construction work in Dallas. The companies have, for many years, benefited from illegal workers, have used them for profit. Illegal workers have left or are leaving, or so the story goes, and the construction companies are in a bind and are moaning about loss in revenue.
Of course they are blaming immigration law enforcement. No mention of their own greed making it nearly impossible for American workers to compete or benefit.
Why is it that so many of you argue in favor of illegals and their native country instead of your fellow citizens and the US?
Whatever happens next, it will be a learning curve for us all, and I suspect it is a bit more involved and complicated than it seems. Time will tell.
