I started this thread, the EU has been very tyrannical and also incredibly slow and myopic. Bloody hell it took them seven years to conclude a trade deal with Canada. Even then it was nearly scuppered by the Belgian region of Wallonia.

If I were Putin, I'd get out some maps, and show Trump NATO expansion,and Baker's statement about not putting troops in the former E.Germany etc.
But it's hopeless.
The Deep State set out to ensure that there was no detente' and the servile politicians followed John McCains lead..

Hopefully Trump will at least engage w/Putin unlike Obama's "bad boy slouching" dismissal of Putin.
But i think events (escalation) have set us on this course, and the momentum can't be stopped.. damn shame
