are such because they contain common truths (and yes this is also a cliché).

I grew up without the internet..lugging books back and forth. I appreciate the fingertip knowledge.
I think it's more because we tribelize (word)? ourselves,and naturally we watch comforting news,
like comfort food.

But I specifically said "slogans" because I meant "slogans"......

and no, "naturally watching comforting news" is turning edification into infotainment. We have an idiot in the WH because 60 million American morons are indulged on a daily basis by click bait ranchers and gold scammers. I don't read Bloomberg because it confirms and bias I might indulge - I do so because it is the best source for REAL news readily available.

Trump the person is certainly not "presidential" - but his voters didn't want that.

we wanted a revolution-a draining of the Swamp from corrupt self serving politicians.
That includes the Republicans,and it most certainly includes the Dem's Identity politics
Harry Reid hyper-(nasty) partisans),and goofy San Francisco Pelosi 's agenda.
we also much wanted a rollback of LW extremism like the EPA's WOTUS

For me it was much more about ridding ourselves of the Clinton warmongering (iraq/Libya/Syria)
and a hopeful end to Russia phobia - which brinkmanship is destabilizing ,ineffective and costly.

Ask your Ca. elitist grad friends about Obama's Libyan destruction, or sanctions on Egypt,
or U.S.A.I.D. meddling in the Ukraine's Euromaiden or the worthless Iran deal.
see if the can give you any good reasons/outcomes for any of that. I know they can't.
