I want prisoners to be treated like the criminals they are.

Many years ago in the town where I lived, one of the local street corner beggars burned down the oldest house in the town. Although the structure was standing, no one lived there. When asked why he did it, he said "at least I will get three meals/day and a place to sleep".

He was the same beggar that would stand on the corner at a major intersection with a sign that said "Will work for food". I was doing a room addition at my house at that time and asked him if he wanted to work for his food like is sign said. I said I would also pay him. When I told him it would be doing basic construction site cleaning and sweeping, he said he couldn't do that kind of work but would still take some money for food. He got nothing and would be one of those that should live in a tent and eat bread/water. It's better than he deserves.
