Comey testimony, Alright, let's take bets now

Why did Comey acquiesce to Lynch's request in the Hillary investigation? But he wouldn't do a simple thing like tell the truth for Trump?

Because he's a Swamp Weasel.

You sure are hung up on the requirement that he come out publically on Trump. Why would he need to do that? Because Trump wanted him to? Trump was doing the talking. Obviously, that wasn't good enough for you. You don't trust him either, do you?

What are they saying in the Fox News bubble?

I don't know lol?

Comey is pissy because Trump fired him---even after stating POTUS can fire an FBI head for literally anything lol.

If Comey refused to tell the public *the truth* I'd fire him too. While he was 3000 miles away. Then I'd send someone into his office to find the memos he has on Lynch and Obama. I'd love to leak some of those.

It would be within my power as POTUS.

Thanks for the info. Now I don't have to suffer it.

It's going to be interesting to see if this gets as far as Watergate, very much doubt, but it will resolve the issue of trump's surrogates who seem to believe that the Potus is a king, despite US v Nixon on privilege and those subpoenas, and whether that logic transports to interfering with an investigation when here, as in Nixon where Dick had no national security rationale for failing to comply, neither does Mfia Don. Since Dick was pardoned and resigned we won't know how the using the CIA to fuck over the FBI as Dick did, would have played out.

Why would Comey need to do that? What a crazy question.

How about because it's the truth? Not revealing the truth, when it matters and when you can, is a kind of lie. Comey is a weasel.

Oh, I don't know.

Maybe because the opposition party is using the investigation to damage Trump and/or impede his agenda. That Comey wouldn't publicly state *the simple fact* that Trump wasn't a subject of investigation makes him in effect, a player, for The Resistance.
I knew he was a weasel.
he's a self righteous Swamp Weasel..Why is only his leaking noble ? If he leaks -why not confirm Trump was never a target? If he felt it was a "directive" why not say so?

Does this guy look easily "stunned" to anyone? ( his words)

According to Comey, the POTUS never asked to stop the investigation and Russia didn’t change a single vote.

What was the question, again?

He told the truth today. He said Orangetweet is a liar. But we knew that, didn't we?

Non-answer, shitbag. Why is Comey required to publically state who is NOT under investigation? Trump was already proclaiming that. You didn't believe Orangetweet, did you? lol

That post should be printed out and every politician and media person who has pushed the Russian conspiracy for the past months should be forced to wear it around their necks.

For a year.
While you're at it, hang Manafort around your neck.

Comey's testimony today likely will not result in obstruction charges since Trump will just deny it or claim he didn't mean to pressure Comey or even that being a non-politician, he didn't understand how things work, etc, etc.

And of course, the Ratpublican majority will close their eyes and give him a pass, whereas if it were a Democrat, they'd already have impeachment proceedings in place.
I guess I'll have to keep referencing Nunes, who was under instruction to obstruct the process.

Is McCain getting too old for logical thoughts? His thought process about the two investigations made no fucking sense. He made himself look stupid
Forget the fact that he referenced an investigation that never took place....he referred to trump as 'Comey' twice.

It's obvious Trump is guilty of obstruction of justice. He tried to interfere and obstruct an ongoing federal investigation. There was an investigation. Trump knew it existed. He used his power as President to try and stop it by asking the director of the FBI to be loyal to him and to stop the investigation. Trump tried to seclude and sequester Comey to privately lean on Comey. Trump fired him. Trump told the Russians the pressure of the investigation was off. Cut and dried. There will be more. For example I speculate a ham handed mobster wannabe like Trump has used this tactic innumerable times on subordinates. Likely the victims will come out of the woodwork to testify against Trump, how they either gave or withheld a loyalty pledge to Trump and what they took those words to mean and what happened in those instances to them. This will provide the required mental state.
Why has everyone forgotten the Nunes issue? That is the most overt act of obstruction yet, given that the trump demands of Comey can be twisted to look like anything.

No. He's hip on how to operate in D.C. He's a type of loose cannon.

Wall Street Journal (6/7/20)........................
The right-leaning Wall Street Journal editorial board hit former FBI Director James Comey for having a "false and dangerous view" of how the agency is expected to function in a democracy.

In an editorial published Wednesday night, just hours ahead of Comey's highly anticipated testimony before Congress, the Journal said that his testimony, released earlier in the day, suggests he believes the FBI should act as an unchecked authority in law enforcement, and that Comey didn't seem interested in discussing any of the issues before him with any elected or appointed officials.

"The most troubling part of Mr. Comey's statement is his belief in what he calls 'the FBI's traditionally independent status in the executive branch,' which he invokes more than once," the paper said. "Independent? This is a false and dangerous view of law enforcement in the American system. Mr. Comey is describing an FBI director who essentially answers to no one. But the police powers of the government are awesome and often abused, and the only way to prevent or correct abuses is to report to elected officials who are accountable to voters."

Comey was fired in May by President Trump after Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein recommended his dismissal and after Trump, by his own account, grew frustrated with the FBI's investigation into whether his campaign colluded with Russia.

In his written testimony, Comey recounts a dinner meeting he had with Trump in late January, during which he said he grew uncomfortable by the president's questions about "loyalty" to him.

"My instincts told me that the one-on-one setting, and the pretense that this was our first discussion about my position, meant the dinner was, at least in part, an effort to have me ask for my job and create some sort of patronage relationship," the testimony reads. "That concerned me greatly, given the FBI's traditionally independent status in the executive branch."

Comey's testimony is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m.

Evidently, Comey wasn't as concerned when Loretta asked him to go along with the obstruction regarding Hillary. It was a "matter" not an investigation.
