"if the U.S. administration finds this appropriate, we’re ready to provide a record of the conversation between Lavrov and Trump to the U.S. Senate and Congress,” the Russian president said. The Russian word for “record” can refer to an audio recording, but the Interfax news agency quoted a Kremlin aide, Yuri V. Ushakov, as telling reporters that Moscow had in its possession a written record of the conversation, not a recording.

Mr. Putin dismissed that claim, saying, “It’s hard to imagine what else these people who generate such nonsense and rubbish can dream up next.”

You're quoting a KGB thug in support of civility. :0)

That's deep.

It's not about "civility". In his case it's Russiaphobia - but it's an apt description of "the resistance" also

Would Your City Survive a Russian Nuclear Attack?
Jessica Sleight | 1 March 2017
I work every day on nuclear disarmament and nonproliferation, so I regularly find myself contemplating some pretty morbid scenarios, like calculating my chances of surviving a nuclear attack. The Global Zero office is in D.C., so if I’m at work when a nuclear weapon detonates over Washington, there’s a very good chance I’d die.
Sometimes, it seems, U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledges the catastrophic reality of nuclear weapon use, himself admitting that a “nuclear holocaust would be like no other.” But his flippant and ill-informed approach to nuclear weapons policy do not instill confidence -- from questioning why we can’t use nuclear weapons to suggesting Japan, South Korea, and Saudi Arabia develop their own nuclear arsenal, to calling for the U.S. to expand its nuclear capability.
Four weeks into his presidency and Trump’s nuclear weapons policy still adds up to ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. What we can surmise: The U.S. has a president playing fast and loose when it comes to national security. Trump’s national security advisor resigned after lying about his contact with Russian officials. He discussed North Korea’s missile launch in public using unsecure cell phones and his donor takes selfies with the nuclear football. He’s reportedly dismissed the U.S.-Russia nuclear arms control treaty (New START) as a “bad’ and “unfair” deal in a phone call with Putin, after pausing the conversation to ask one of his aides what the treaty was.
Only one month in and Trump has demonstrated shockingly poor judgement and nowhere is his judgement more critical and more absolute than when it comes to nuclear weapons. The president has sole authority to launch thousands of nuclear weapons. Not one person, legislative, or judicial body could stop him. America’s nuclear fate is squarely in Trump’s hands.
A new study from Global Zero shows what is at stake for the U.S. in a nuclear war with Russia. In the event President Trump launches a nuclear first-strike, Russia could respond with a nuclear attack that would destroy nearly 150 U.S. cities.

In this scenario, 22 million people would die. El Paso, TX would see 470,000 individuals perish. Boston would witness 570,000 fatalities. Santa Ana, CA: 205,000. New York; San Francisco; Sioux Falls, SD; Chattanooga, TN -- all could be destroyed in a Russian retaliatory attack.
But all is not lost. We know how to stop President Trump from plunging the U.S. into nuclear war. It’s just a matter pushing those in power to take a stand. That’s where you come in.
Two members of Congress, Rep. Ted Lieu and Sen. Ed Markey, have proposed urgent legislation to prevent the U.S. president from launching nuclear weapons without a declaration of war by Congress. This would make it illegal for any U.S. president to start a nuclear war at their sole discretion.
You have the power to save your city and the cities of the ones you love. Sign the petition and call on Congress to stop Donald Trump, or any future president, from unilaterally starting a nuclear war.

No, it's about geopolitics and three countries competing for dominance on the map. It's about checks and balance and stability versus ceding real estate (or spheres), imbalance and instability.

You think Russia dominates the Asian land mass by accident?

Putin: "Either they don’t understand the damage they’re doing to their own country, in which case they are simply stupid, or they understand everything, in which case they are dangerous and corrupt.”

Your desire for impeachment regarding Russiaphobia ( the meeting) coupled with the resistance ( innate deligitimization)is dangerous to the body politic. You don't want to hear it, but Putin is a keen observer of all this
