If even a generation longer, it would have been one generation in human bondage. Wars have been fought over a single archduke.

Let's ask a similar question, what would the socio political and economic conditions of blacks be in the southeast United States, and in the North, and West today had the confederates won?
 
So is Rump saying Lincoln (R) was incapable where Jackson (D) was capable... maybe I see a crack in his partisanship.

Blacks today are used as pawns by the Democrats every two years during election time. Blacks have a 75% bastard birth rate that didn't start rising to that point until after a Democrat that said "I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years" instituted programs that keep them slaves on the Democrat plantation today. The educational level of blacks is horrendous. The average IQ for blacks is horrendous. Blacks use food stamps at a rate of 1 in every 3 1/2.

A better question is how has blacks voting Democrat for the last 50+ years worked out for them?

I don't think the Civil War could have been avoided. The GOP bad offered an amendment to protect slavery in the south. However, the south viewed the westward expansion of slavery as necessary, and was offended by mere criticism of the goal and the institution, itself. When Douglas offered-up the doctrine of popular sovereignty, the south got angry, because they didn't want the people to be able to determine for themselves the future of slavery on the territories.

That's a fairly uncompromising mindset, and a really stupid approach. A level of stupidity that would eventually lead to a second-world nation attacking an American fort.
