Jackson would have prevented the Civil War

does anyone really think that if the civil war did not happen blacks would still be slaves today? :)

And how many more years of brutal enslavement would have been acceptable to you as a compromise for avoiding the war?

You guys defend everything Trump says. Wake up - it's embarrassing.

It had to happen. you can't have a society where people enslave each other, or fragment into 2 separate counties.
I think slavery had to happen (stand) for Ratification - and the Civil War had to happen to correct that monstrosity.

One of the good things about the USA is it's ability to self-correct..
Not just slavery but voting rights, unions..things we need as a modernized egalitarian society.
In Africa, Black Lives Have Never Mattered

Slavery saved the Blacks from savagery. The South had slavery, the North had sweatshops. The North had no moral superiority.

Independent thinkers should be able to figure out obvious clues and analogies without needing a designated guru to give credence to them. Look at the ruling class's permissiveness about illegal aliens. That indicates this scheme is for Right Wing cheap non-unionized labor rather than insincere Left Wing self-righteousness about multiculturalism. The same insincerity was preached by the Abolitionists. They were Republicans, so the logical conclusion was that they wanted to free the slaves in order to replace the increasingly defiant White working class up North. Just like the desperate Mexican invaders, the Africans were expected to be grateful and not unionize. This is proved by the fact that practically all the Abolitionists hated labor unions.

Jackson would have exposed the Abolitionist scam. He would have told the Southerners to support Northern labor unions and only back off when the Northerners quit supporting Abolitionism.

The Trail of[SUB]Crybabies[/SUB] Tears is another feralphile delusion. The savages had butchered settlers, abducted women, and kidnapped White children. The cruel multiculties shed no tears for that.

I doubt they would still be, but we would be far behind where we are today with the acceptance into society of former slaves.

Another week of slavery would not be acceptable to me.

lets say 50 or even 100. Remember that half a million people died in the civil war countless other millions maimed. It doesnt seem far fetched that 50 more years of slavery would be preferable doesnt it?

so in your calculus ending slavery 1 week early is enough to justify killing half a million people?

Sorry, slavery is a moral issue and murdering as many of your people as possible to hasten its end is just cause for fighting a war. I hope your great great grandfather died legless, alone, slowly and in excruciating agony of gangrene without any opiates, southern traitorous vermin!

I love tolerant liberals

Unfortunately for you my family wasn't here then. Never owned mandingos and never fought in the Civil War. My ancestors immigrated legally much later.

That being said, you would think the negro were more grateful.

Nobody knows.

This is a far cry from the run up to the Iraq war when liberals cried "war is never the option"

Slavery would have ended on its own without killing 500,000 people and ripping the nation apart.

Again you being a binary thinker believes that holding that notion makes one pro slavery. I feel sorry for you.

Actually I don't believe that is true.

Since we both agree that it would have ended on its own accord then we can only predict what would have happened afterward.

Had the war not taken place all of the brutal actions caused by the North both before and after would not have transpired.

We probably would have never had the democrat party led KKK and the democrat party led Jim Crow laws.

While it is all hypothetical. It is worth discussion

NO, and I don't think that would have prevented the killing of half a million people. The war was going to happen. It might have been a lot better had it happened during Jackson's presidency than when it did.... Same number of people killed.... slavery ended much earlier.

IT does to me. I would not trade 5 years of slavery for the lives that were likely going to be lost anyway.

Had the war not taken place America would have remained a weak Confederacy that would never have been capable of defending the world in WWI or WWII.

so if it was going to happen slavery or not it had nothing to do with slavery? :)

I disagree.

Had slavery been allowed to end of its own accord the divisions that exist today would not.

No, it was about Slavery and the underlying issue regarding the states power to make such decisions under our constitution. The question was if States had a right to decide who was human and if so did States have the right to deny the right to liberty without due process of law.
