Jackson would have prevented the Civil War

I dont think Jackson would have avoided the war. I think he would have ended the war sooner by authorizing actions like Sherman's much faster.

At that point in time the French and the English were already putting pressure on the South to end slavery and they wanted the South to win.

The South never took kindly to anyone putting pressure on them.

No one putting pressure on the South would have caused them to abandon slavery. The South alone was one of the largest economies in the world at that time and a large percentage of their wealth and GDP was wrapped up in slavery.

Jackson was, at one time, our worst president.
You've been talking to 3D again. Jackson did more for the poor and working class in this nation than any President before and after him till TR. He played a substantial role in opening the interior of this nation, promoted infrastructure development, ended the threat of foreign invasion and created a national banking system.

He certainly had major flaws and failures but he was also the most significant US president between Jefferson and Lincoln.

Jarod was asking if we were going to have slavery now if we did not fight the civil war. I was pointing out that other nations at that point were already asking the south to give it up. It would only have gotten worse over time and we would have had to give it up civil war or no.

Yeah.
Nixon was a great environmentalist.

Liberals are such limited thinkers

They just accept that the Civil War was inevitable. It wasn't

Slavery would have ended on its own accord as it was not only immoral, but bad economics. There was no need for Lincoln to slaughter 500,000 of its people.

You really don't have to try to defend every stupid thing that Trump says.

Not defending Trump at all

I have held this position long before Trump uttered these words or decided to run for office. If you had ever been paying attention you would know that.

Again you are such a limited, binary thinker that it is lost on you

Jackson was a southerner who defended slavery and owned slaves himself.

Jackson was the racist responsible for the Trail of a 1000 Tears.

Suggesting that he could have prevented the Civil War that happened 24 years after he left office and 16 years after his death is just as you've said .. incredibly stupid.

Trump is an imbecile, and he tweets and floats nonsense like an internet troll. The fact that he chose to weigh in on the civil war at all shows just what a fool and an asshole he is. That he chose Jackson, the Republican dog's newfound chewy toy ever since Walter Russell Meade selected it as the moniker for one of his 4 US political traditions, and that eventually got perverted by enough right wing public charlatans until it finally trickled down to the very nadir of the Republican population, perhaps gurgling and burgling and percolating around for a decade until a philistine the likes of Trump gets his hands on it, in so doing immediately tweets "his" take as if discovering the philosopher's stone, is mindboggling. Next up he starts calling Lincoln a traitor, refers to the Civil War as the war of northern aggression and whistles dixie at the next global economic summit. Is this a precursor to some negative action against the southern poverty law center or something? Will he open a Trump revisionist holocaust museum next to the museum of tolerance? How about weighing in sympathetically on creationism?

Trump is a clown and I'll never forgive the Republican party for voting him in office.

Sorry, slavery is a moral issue and murdering as many of your people as possible to hasten its end is just cause for fighting a war. I hope your great great grandfather died legless, alone, slowly and in excruciating agony of gangrene without any opiates, southern traitorous vermin!

What were his methods in "opening up the interior of this nation"?

I saw more of the video last night, Rump also claimed that Jackson was angry about the Civil War....
