Conservative commentator Ann Coulter has canceled her speech planned for this week at the University of California's Berkeley campus after a dispute with university officials, who feared violent protests, over whether a safe venue could be found.

"There will be no speech," she wrote in an email to Reuters on Wednesday, saying two conservative groups sponsoring her speech were no longer supporting her. "I looked over my shoulder and my allies had joined the other team," she wrote.

It's a shame that violent liberals are being allowed to shut down free speech. Ann Coulter is a saint for even wanting to educate those empty headed socialist turds.

The article seems to say the reason is she was betrayed on her own-go figure..............

it's saying she can't get backed up by the sponcors because of threats of violence and campus cops not protecting here ( which the school denied) :

Please, describe the "violence" committed by the liberals you mentioned.

Coulter is such a delicate snowflake, she had to cancel her speech and go to her safe place.

i don't remember when calls for "free speech" really meant restricting speech.
Sure there were protests against conservative messages -but not violence. The show went on.

Violent demonstrations were pretty much saved for that obscene Vietnam war.
(in terms of the pimply faced kids back then)
 
threats of violence has replaced free speech on campus. From a political perspective leave it to Berkeley liberals to makes someone as heinous as Ann Coulter look sympathetic. People in other parts of the country see this type of behavior and it's not a surprise Democrats get smoked like they do.

The only violence up to now(as of late) has been a pie in the face.
I don't recall any violent protests back in the 60's early 70's over political speech- just Vietnam.
I could be wrong but the first of that stuff was about abortion.

^ I was at the University of Maryland later on in November of that year..it was a bad riot -rocks and tear gas and cops on horseback with batons. But no shootings. Fvck the war.
