The Billy Graham Rule!

I understand the assumed Quid Pro Quo of the average Christian,
They buy into the notion that if they mumble the proper incantations on their knees in the magic house once a week, it doesn't matter what they say and do all week they are still going to live for fucking ever...
It is childish and retarded thinking, but that is the primary motivation for the religion industry.

You're clueless on matters of faith...stick to politics.

Pence needs to grow a pair and show his wife who's boss.

He's showing the world the immense depth of love, honor, commitment and respect he has for his wife, their bond, their family together and understanding of God's word.

I am friendly with her husband and she is friendly with my wife, they trust us.

This is good. You and your wife have made a good choice for yourselves. Other married couples might a different choice which works well for them. What's the problem? Pence and his wife are not in D.C. crafting some new law forcing their way on you.

He is.

Did God tell Pence his word or did Pence get it from that book written by Bronze Age goatfuckers?

you're on a whole other topic. Clearly rapes occur. I'm speaking to Jarod's comments about men's behavior and the potential repercussions.

Actually I don't really care what the Pences do inside their marriage, it's their business.

But I care a lot about Pence's dismal record toward women.

I don't get all the hub-bub here. Every human being falls to temptation of some kind every day. It's our nature to sin. It's against our nature to rise above it, repent and receive forgiveness. God says we (those who are Christians, anyway) should avoid the appearance of sin. This is wisdom knowing that all of us would sin as much as we could get away with if we were not constrained by the love of God. Better to live free than in bondage to sin. And, every time a non-believer judges a believer, they heap judgment upon themselves...not wise.

You give this lecture on sinfulness and just a few posts ago you snarked at Hillary about something that has nothing to do with her.

I wish some Christians didn't hold a double standard about sinfulness. My religion says everyone falls to temptation but we're cautioned to try and do better afterwards. We aren't told that "being saved" trumps all sorts of bad behaviour.

So "sinning " is AOK because forgiveness and absolution is as easy as falling off a log, and you still believe you will live for fucking ever...
Got it, Stench

I never understood this interpretation. Nothing in there about trying to do better and trying to avoid what made a person sin in the first place.
