Maybe more people should read the Article Of The Deal? In any​ negotiation, you go in hard initially and then reach a deal.

The Art of the Deal might apply in the business world where people worked for and negotiated with trump, but he's supposed to be working for us now. He can't just unilaterally make the decisions he's pushing for.
