Some praise for Trump

You don't understand statistics lol.

The average number of incidents in recent years, is around a thousand a year, according to the ADL link. Call it 100 a month to keep things rounded off and the math easy.

Seventy-ish incidents since January *isn't statistically significant* relative to recent years.

"Another troubling finding: anti-Semitic incidents at colleges and universities nearly doubled last year. A total of 90 incidents were reported on 60 college campuses in 2015, compared with 47 incidents on 43 campuses in 2014." [ADL link]

What is it with liberals and antisemitism?

Just thought I'd leave that there lol.

At any rate, what got the narrative going was the so-called 'spike' that's not really a spike. As far as I can gather, it was due to an inordinate number of bomb threats being called into Jewish centers.

By who knows who. Just as importantly, how many who's? Seventy people can call in seventy bomb threats or it's not inconceivable ONE person did all of them.

Bottom line, not only are the incidents not statistically significant, there is ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE it has anything to do with Trump supporters, even if it correlates with the election because correlation doesn't equal causation.

You're pretty hypersensitive about that one, dopey Darthy.

How did the conversation shift to Trump supporters being responsible?

I was just glad initially that Trump said something & showed some concern, thus the thread. I never "blamed" Trump supporters.

Wheels within wheels

With America angrily divided and our public discourse down to the level of The Gerry Springer Show, it's not surprising that the issue of whether or not the President of the United States is a Russian spy should have so many of us engaged in our best efforts at thoughtful analysis.

In forums such as this, positions on the topic take the form of pictures, memes if you will, rather than the sort of detailed, verbal analysis associated with law and the courts. Opponents of Mr. Trump depict him as a hapless boob not unlike Mel Brooks' famous depiction of the governor in his hilarious satire, Blazing Saddles. At the other extreme, the president's partisans see him as a patriotic hero whose messianic intervention is saving America from the evils of terminal decay.

Both sides have a point, although neither one can be said to have a description which addresses all the levels on which the American government functions simultaneously. A snapshot of the a landscape cannot capture the many-layered complexity of its geology.
Mr. Trump's relationship with the Russian government is comprised of a number of indistinct memories and discussions, each of which is subject to its own ambiguities and subjective interpretations. American national policy is too broad to be depicted in a simplistic cartoon. Is Trump a spy? Yes and no. Is he a hero? Yes and no. Can all this be boiled down to a clear, single assessment? No and no.

Oh, and Darthy? While you were snooping, did you notice that Obama DID call out the incidents on college campuses with a speech on Holocaust Remembrance Day?

Moron.

about those lies you tell, Thingie....
http://www.pressherald.com/2017/01/30/obama-encourages-protests-rejects-comparison-between-immigration-policies/

Former President Obama rejected the idea Monday that President Trump had based his immigration executive order on a policy adopted by his own administration, and endorsed the protests that have been taking place across the country in response to the new restrictions

This will be a short interruption in my usual posting m.o. during the Trump era, but kudos to him for coming out forcefully against the anti-Semitic incidents and threats of the past few weeks.

It's something a President has to do, but it was still good to see him do it.

he needs to do this every time he has the opportunity

just like he claimed

Nah; sure didn't.

Anger can really cloud your thinking. You should step away from the keyboard for awhile. Listen to some calm music, or meditate. It will help.
You're the one who sounds angry and very defensive.

You said it, everyone knows and can read what you said. Stop lying.

"What requires more skill is finding a leftist with an IQ above 90 " Dunce.

It's probably more difficult to find one whose isn't.

Only if you wallow in blissful denial. There is nothing intelligent about the current state of lunacy on the left, the protests claiming Trump isn't their President or the FAKE media's notion that the Trump Presidency is failing 30 days into it.

You liberals define the term stupid, petty and pathetic. But I do enjoy watching the lying idiots on the left pretend they are intelligent and have the slightest clue of what they are erupting about.

It's all the seething hatred Trump shows for his Jewish daughter, Jewish son-in-law, and Jewish grandchildren.

Clearly the man is a Nazi.

True story; but to hear it from the rabid loonies on the left, Trump is a major anti-Semitic.

They really are THAT F'ing dense.
