Milo tapped as Keynote Speaker at CPAC

I like the guy, although he has become more of a media player since going to the USA.

He's an entertainer and a comedian. For fucks sake how can any person with an IQ needed to rub two sticks together take Milo too seriously. Milo is an unwashed piker compared to George Carlin, considered by many the greatest stand up comedian ever, when it came to saying offensive political shit. Carlin was an equal opportunity offender and said far more outrageous shit than Milo like "Have you ever noticed that women who are against abortion are women you wouldn't want to fuck anyways?"

People who are offended by Milo either take themselves too seriously or are dumber than shit or have no sense of humor.

He is a lot smarter than he is being given credit for here, I don't agree with everything he says but it is just brilliant the way he boils the piss of the regressive left. He is a bit of a chameleon though, for instance his real name is Milo Hanrahan.

Oh I think Milo could very easily get tired of trolling moonbats and turn on wingnuts if he can provoke either a vitriolic response or a good laugh.

He's a gay Catholic, pushing Catholic guilt. There is nothing new in what he says, it's just funny because he is a self hating gay that is a practicing Catholic with Jewish heritage. He really isn't that funny or interesting. I'd rather listen to Lenny Bruce.
Well who wouldn't and Lenny could be far, far, far more offensive than Milo. Milo is a piker and a neophyte compared to social satirist like Bruce, Carlin and Pryor. I find Milo quite witty and humorous but he's got a long way to go to be in those guys league of funny and offensive at the same time.

All. Conservatism has stood for free markets, free trade and the free movement of people. That doesn't mean open borders but it is not banning people and reducing legal immigration.

Go read any of Reagan's work for starters.
No they don't. Show me one nation that has completely free markets, completely free trade or completely free movement of people. Just one.

That's not what it stood for? What big name conservatives can you think of who were nationalists?
Considering a don't consider Trump a conservative none that I can think of. We learned out lesson on Nationlism when European colonial powers elevated nationalism to mass mental illness and depopulated their continent by over a 100 million in the first half of the 20th century. That doesn't make your statement a true statement.

Conservatives believe in "well regulated markets" as opposed to over regulated markets. Truly free markets tend to become monopolies. Show me a conservative who believes in them? Hell Republicans lead the charge to end monopoly capitalism in our nation at the turn of the 20th century. Conservatives have long believed in using excises and tariffs to protect emerging industries from cheap foreign imports. Without tariffs to protect industry and manufacturing during the American industrial revolution we would have never became the worlds greatest industrial power and conservatives have always been advocates of controlling and limiting immigration, both legal and illegal. I can name at least three major congressional acts limiting legal immigration into our nation led by conservative lawmakers that were based almost purely on bigotry.

Yea well that's a rationalization on your part. That's not what nationalism is.

Neither is liberalism what it once was.

The current iteration is nothing like European nationalism of the last century: that's a caricature perpetrated by the left.

Today's 'nationalism' is primarily a reaction to open borders and globalism.

good grief.
Is it so difficult to understand "America First?"
we are so brainwashed by the globalists that we must make sure to bring up world living standards,
we forget that other countries ( China/Russia / India etc.) don't really care how well the 2nd and 3rd world is doing.

Oh we all want prosperity worldwide -but at a cost to our own nation? ( nationalism). No.
This is not a difficult idea- we are not used to it under Obama/Bush /Clinton.
It's reality based instead.

I'm pretty sure Reagan would advocate for rule of law. Presently, our border and immigration policy is [was?] founded on lawlessness. In fact, that's where so many establishment republicans---who famously invoked Reagan at every turn, only to go AWOL on immigration.

And then they, amazingly, wonder how we ended up with Trump. Trump launched his campaign on immigration and never looked back.

Trump is the imperfect vessel for the best/needed ideas of our time.
I sincerely hope his ideas succeed despite himself at times

This is pretty damn funny!

Trump doesn't need to speak eloquently. We see what we got out of that for the last 8 years.

We need his words to translate into meaningful results. You know like the Dow Jones... 20,624.05

Ya. sure. i'm talking about his ability to transform his agenda into actuality.
Lot's of Long Knives out there including but not limited to McCain

He's a man for the times, for sure lol.

Time will tell. It's so early there's no way to know how it will turn out. We'll have an idea after a hundred days, even after that things could go north or south.

Four years is an eternity in our political system.

Somewhere above the 8th grade level would help.

Another thing that would go a long way would be a MINIMAL grasp of policies. For instance, something other than "we're gonna have a lot of love" in response to questions about the rise of anti-semitism.

Bingo.

At the end of the day the only thing will matter are results. I'm anxious to see the first 'Trump' economy and jobs numbers.

If Trump produces on that end and avoids serious foreign policy mistakes, democrats are going to be in for a hard time.

Milo has an important task. Taking on the lunacy on college campuses and exposing what liberalism and PC culture lead to. The right needs him, like it or not.

I'm all for him exposing college campuses, like he did at Berkeley. But that is a very different role than being the keynote speaker at CPAC.

Free markets, as the term is used by conservatives, does not mean anarchy. There has to be the rule of law to back players in the market.

Read the big conservative intellectuals and icons such as Reagan. They all supported legal immigration and the believe that America is where the best minds in the world should come.

For starters look at the damage done by smoot-Hawley tariff act. That's a perfect example of America First. It's not like Trump is suggesting a whole new course. What he's suggesting has been tried before and we know the results. And the sad part is the people who will be hurt most by it are his biggest supporters.
