2) someone suggests we should
3) you claim it hasn't worked
4) we point out that, as stated in the OP, we aren't doing it.....which would explain why it hasn't worked
5) you respond that the gov just does it when it feels like

Why on gawds green earth should we not give extreme vetting to those coming from known terrorists states with failed government?
we have no way of knowing their identity or purpose besides cursory document inspection
