Affordable Care Act

what about the income requirements for Medicare? Not to be picky, but shouldn't that be for the poor?
But they wil lbe doing Medicade expansion -only by block grants instead of the imposition by the Fed law if they (states) accepted it
like Obama care..
It's a mess.

There would have to be state involvement in creating a "new class" of care.

The ACA screwed up a number of things, including my tax bill and provider choices.

Very true, unfortunately the analogy is lost on those who call themselves conservatives as well.

Healthcare can be a very emotional topic because most people fear getting sick and worse fear dying. They want the gobblement to be the insurer of last resort but have never stopped to think about what that entails.

When the gobblement pays for your healthcare it is the gateway to controlling every aspect of your life. They will use it as the pretext to ban and prohibit all sorts of things all in the name of "controlling healthcare costs"

yup. what one can and can't eat. Perhaps mandatory exercise regimes or you'll be cut if you are over a certain weight. No smoking, no alcohol. Maybe eventually we can't do fun risky things. It's a way for government to control behavior and society.

Without Medicare reform that would never happen. Medicare is worse than not having insurance. The people wont stand for it and Trump has already said he is keeping the PIC.

Medicare reform is a must- but completely possible when looking at the alleviated costs to government by replacing the failed model of the ACA with free market options.

Sorry, the Republicans cant come up with anything that can get the votes. The ACA is here to stay, they may put on a show of repealing it, but they will replace it with an almost exact copy.

They wont get rid of the Prohibition on Pre-Existing Conditions, the Subsidy, the insurance for 26year olds on parents policy, and unlikely the Mandate. I love it, their reason for living over the last 8 years has died!

More power to them, if they do that, then it will be just another great step toward single payer.

Do you understand the concept of insurance? Why don't you prove to us that you do

Did you not understand his post? The freeloader refuses to buy insurance. Unless he gets hit by a beer truck and dies instantly, he's going to get sick. Then, moron, YOU pay. What part of that do you fail to comprehend?

They don't care.

This is not about the best interests of the American people .. it's about what they see in the best interests of the Republican Party.

Repeal Obamacare and you lose 3 million jobs. They don't care. They've had 7 years to develop an alternative plan. They have nothing .. they don't care.

I say let them have it .. then get rid of these clowns with anger.

what's bankrupting the system is patriots like me who have refused to sign up for obamacare. I am a healthy 30s year old. I am letting it eat itself from the inside. Makes me so happy to know I had a small part in helping to kill obamacare
You won't always be healthy with that shit diet you live on.
If you don't get rid of the pre-existing condition exclusions you can't get rid of the individual mandate or the subsidies. What is it you want to get rid of?

what part don't you understand? I am not a leech like you. I am not a pathetic taker slave. I've gotten sick many times, I broke my ribs a couple of years ago. No hospital for me. No ER. Healed up just nicely. I know it's literally incomprehensible that I wouldn't want to be a pathetic taker like yourself at some point in my life, but I haven't, and I wont be. I will die free.

Stupid fuck, I have a great insurance package. Unlike you, I have employment that has benefits. For you, digging ditches probably doesn't. When Mommy and Daddy quit paying for your free ride, you decided to put your risk on the rest of us.

You'll die with us footing the bill, leech.

Same is true for dems. The ACA has been unpopular since day 1. And dems lost seats in both midterms.
The ACA is here to stay, they may put on a show of repealing it, but they will replace it with an almost exact copy.
Remains to be seen. I won't make any predictions. Hell, I predicted Hillary would win the electoral vote in a landslide.

The hildebeest may not be physically dead yet. (I predict she'll croak by the end of this calendar year.) But she's politically dead.

I want to get rid of the whole thing. The only people that wanted it were all the utopian obama voters. Never quite understood why the "preexisting condition" crowd thought they should be able to say to an insurance company, "hey! I have a preexisting condition! I'm going to pay you a premium of $250 a month, and you are going to pay my medical expenses that come to $5000 a month". And the reason why people want to keep their kids on their policies until they're almost 30 is because there aren't enough jobs for them. Another reason not to replace it is, we never had it before, and insurance was cheaper(and the care was better).
Man I'm glad we have the NHS!!

How stupid that you love something so bad.

it will/is going to be repealed. 26 year olds are healthy, it's easy to keep. What's more, if the free market ideas are put in place, and they will be, it's even more affordable to let young working adults buy their own. Imaging a buyers pool of retail workers.

The tricky piece is definitely the preexisting condition. But working that out with individual states will be the only tenable answer- Still it can/will happen. Bye bye to Obamas crappy signature legislation.

By making Medicaid viable and putting more people on it?

Do you understand everyone with high cholesterol will qualify.

BS. Fortunately you don't get to try and restrict or expand the language. A person who simply suffers high cholesterol would be in the free market paying as a higher risk than his neighbor who doesn't have it.

I haven't been to the ER in a decade and back then I had insurance under my parents. I am not a feeble cripple like the rest of you. And for the record, I don't fear death. If I get sick then oh well. I know it must blow your mind there are actually principled people int he world, but I will NEVER be a taker. To me it's the lowest of the low. It's like selling yourself into slavery.

ROFL!

Gosh Grind, I can't imagine what it must be like to be as brave as you!

Simple minded Grind tries to equate his supposed lack of "fear of death" with not taking any action to put off death if/when it ever comes for him.

I guarantee you Grind, WHEN death comes for you and it WILL come for you, you like everyone else will do EVERYTHING in your power to put it off for just a little while longer.

Oh myyyyyyy!

Broken ribs?

Buddy, you were truly "knockin on death's door" that time, weren't ya tough guy?

We shall see. I don't love it, in fact their are major flaws in it, but it is better than what we had prior. It is a step in the correct direction. Republicans however cant fix it because they want to go in the wrong direction. The people wont allow that, even Trump has said he is keeping the pre-existing condition prohibition, which is the one reason the free market wont work in healthcare.

Mandating what people can and cannot eat?

Mandatory exercise?

Whoops...there goes your desire for "smaller government"!
