The Trump Effect? After Carrier pledge to keep jobs in US, more companies may follow

I've seen it about 3 times, out of the thousands of posts he has had.

It's a bit tragic, since he is capable.

Irony coming from another whiney leftist thread troll who stupidly predicted a Hillary landslide and now whines and carps about a Presidency that hasn't even begun. You lack the basic intelligence to comprehend how stupid you look.

I am so much better at this than Sylvia Grind.

More irony from an idiot who thinks crap like this is intelligent. :rofl2:

My first sentence offered some way forward for the discussion. I don't care if you insult me but the you don't actually respond. Both you and PiMPle are too afraid to engage.

I will wait for tsuke. Not so intelligent but at least he tries.

Wrong; ALL of your sentences insult the intelligence of anyone with a brain. But I am amused that you think your whiney leftist bloviating about Trump and Republicans could be mistaken as substantive discourse. Dunce.

If you are business friendly, business will want to be here. It's a pretry simple concept.

Agreed but there's a difference between business friendly legislation and crony capitalism. What we're seeing here is people who traditionally spoke out against crony capitalism now supporting it because they like who is doing it

The blue-collar who worked at the Carrier plant wanted Democrats, particularly the one in the White House and the one running for President,
to try and do something creative to save those jobs.

But they didn't.

Regarding Trump's promises about the Carrier plant, President Obama specifically said, "He's going to bring these jobs back. Well, how are you exactly going to do that, what are you going to do? There's no answer to it."

It turns out, maybe there was.

And now Trump has a good early story to tell, and an opportunity to strengthen his grip on People Like Us. ( blue collar Dems)

Every large company now has a fiduciary duty to its shareholders to threaten to move its operations abroad so Trump will give them something.

Its now a bargaining chip.

There is a balance, you can be too business friendly. Look at the cable, high speed internet industry.

it's nothing new..the states have been playing the same game-threatening to move

Let's call it for what it is. It's great that he saved these jobs...but is that a sustainable formula?

well lets see.....$700 invested per job saved.....minus the lost federal income tax revenue from the 1000 employees....minus the lost state income tax revenue from the 1000 employees.....minus the unemployment compensation that would have had to been paid to the 1000 employees.......minus the food stamps they would have automatically qualified for because they were receiving unemployment.....are we sustainable yet?.....

None of those jobs returned. Carrier is still sending 1300 jobs to Mexico.
