Now he admits to human climate change!

On Jan. 29, 2014, Trump tweeted: "Snowing in Texas and Louisiana, record setting freezing temperatures throughout the country and beyond. Global warming is an expensive hoax!"

Another tweet:

"Ice storm rolls from Texas to Tennessee - I'm in Los Angeles and it's freezing. Global warming is a total, and very expensive, hoax!"

The notion that humans may contribute to climate change is fairly mainstream, climate skeptic wise.

The million dollar question is how much? It still leaves a whole raft of related and unanswered questions like 'does mans activities over ride the sun [many respected scientists give that a resounding no!] or can we do anything significant about it via regulation and etc.

I wouldn't rush to judgement on Trump changing course lol. Some will anyway because they can't help themselves.
He hasn't changed course, but you can be sure the climate blog will do their damnedest to force him.

Why didn't you answer my question?

Were you making that up? You made the claim -you should be able to back it up.

"It is also worth noting that Trump’s often cited 2012 tweet about climate change stating “The concept of global warming was created by and for the Chinese in order to make U.S. manufacturing non-competitive,” was clearly a joke and he has said it was a joke. It is further worth noting that climate skeptics do not believe the conecpt of “climate change” is a hoax."

Nothing with China?

The notion that climate change is a hoax isn't all that fringe. Though 'hoax' is probably too strong a term and not the way I'd put it.

Lots of monied interests are on both sides of the equation---which is ample reason to be skeptical of it. Calling it a hoax is no different than labeling climate skeptics 'deniers'. And I'll go out on a limb and say you are ok with the latter but not the former.

Especially when Trump says it lol.

You just completely reversed your position. Now, you're trying to justify calling it a hoax, instead of backing up your comment that your "understanding" was that he was joking, and that the media took his words out of context.

No kidding; you just did that. You tried to have it every which way.

And don't presume to know what I think on this issue. I have had more criticism for the left on climate science than for the right.

You asked for evidence that Trump's comment about China pulling a hoax was a joke---and I did. For Trump to have been serious he would have meant China was behind it. Which is absurd on its face, but you and the media are so anxious to get something on Trump you don't pause to think.

That said, the west is totally gullible enough to think China would adhere to carbon emissions standards. Trump is many things, gullible isn't one of them.

But many people [including respected scientists] think climate change is a 'hoax' in the sense it's at best, bad science and at worst, a scam.

I waver back and forth between the two. As usual, you're making a big deal out of nothing.
