ID laws halted becuase they are racist

I think that there are a couple of reasonable regulations that could be placed on gun purchases and ownership such as refusing a sale to a person on probation or with warrants found through a background check but for the most part any American adult should be able to purchase a gun and ammunition for that gun. I understand the reasoning of background checks and I'm not completely against it but there are obviously incidents where someone with a great background uses a gun to commit a crime and so it's not completely effective. I can also get behind the refusal to sell to a released convicted felon that used a gun to commit a crime.

That might be one of he dumbest comments in the thread. I am supporting everyone's right to vote. Once one of your nutty cohorts brought gun rights into the discussion, the thread veered off into idiot status.

Everyone has the right to vote. If a state chooses to attempt to narrow the scope of those who exercise that right via specialized ID requirements, said state should provide that ID in a timely fashion, at no cost.

Everyone does not have the right to vote dumbass, people under 18 do not have the right to vote, felons have lost that right and the 14% of illegals who according to the Washington Post are registered to vote do not have the right to vote, oh and dead people sure as hell do not have the right to vote. In fact any vote by one of those groups is an infringement on the rights of eligible voters and reasonable legislation to protect that right can Constitutionally be implemented. You can't even get a job or cash a paycheck without an ID so who is it exactly that this would effect?

Very nice. How do you feel about voting rights?

I believe that every adult American citizen has the right to vote and that in order to make sure it's an American citizen voting and to make sure that people are voting in the area and state that they actuallly live in so that they have proper representation for their city, county, and state that there should be a valid state issued ID shown at the time of voting proving residency.

the facts say it presents no danger to our elections

the courts agree your party cheats voters out of their rights

Can you please answer the question I asked you on post #161? You haven't yet and I've asked several times.

You're talking about districts and I'm talking about having to verify your citizenship. Are you saying that I should be able to vote in any city or state even if I don't live there as long as I have an ID or are you saying I should be able to vote anywhere I want even without an ID?

the laws the right pushes are designed to disenfranchise voters

our courts have spoken

I'm sorry but no you did not. Can you please answer the question that I asked?

I'm saying the courts have said the republican party designs these laws to keep legal voters from voting

how is that not and answer

Because it's not an answer to the question that I asked you. I asked a question directed at you personally to answer but your response was talking about republicans. Can you answer the question that I asked you directly?
