The unintended consequence of law - housing in California

How do does this work Zap? So not a single liberal who claims to care about the poor and middle class wants to talk about how their rules and regulations makes housing unaffordable for the poor and middle class in California. Why am I not surprised.

Did I do it right?

EL OH EL!

Whatever you say wacko!

:rofl2:

(There, I crafted a typical wacko response)

To be clear...isn't this all about prime locations?

No. It's about people using the CEQA law to stop any and all development and about communities and cities not wanting added housing built in their neighborhoods. So it drives up prices and forces middle class people out.

But these areas are bursting with homes, and considered prime locations. No? Are you saying that nobody can afford to build further into the outlying areas?

And the numbers cited in the article are probably misleading. Even near me, the vast majority of new home starts are mansions. This is more about the people who can afford to build a home, vs. the average cost to build a modest home.

The Bay Area and Los Angeles doesn't build enough housing to meet the demand. Because that's where most of the jobs are its where housing needs to be built.

Yes more affordable housing can be built in places like Tracy, Modesto and Fresno. One of the reason bigger homes are being built is because the fees tacked onto building costs make small homes unprofitable.

Well as long as you benefit. Not sure why you are complaining.

Demographics have doomed you in Commiefornia. Just suck it up.
We are losing businesses as the cost of housing becomes so prohibitive. States like Texas with cheap housing are the beneficiary. People here vote Democrat but they sure have the "I've got mine" attitude they accuse Republicans of having

So it's feasible to build outside of the hot zones, and commute? That's very common in many areas. People don't want to live in the city, so they raise a family in 'the burbs', and drive to work.

People in the suburbs don't want anything built. They only place where any building is getting done is in the cities and they aren't building close to enough. Thus for anything "affordable" people have to live an hour or two outside of where the jobs are. So we have lost productivity as a result, more crowded freeways and more pollution. There are multiple people in the office where i'm working now that have an hour and a half or longer commute each way. It sucks. They hate it but they do it because it's all they afford.

This is what happens when you don't build enough housing to meet the demand. It's why businesses are moving out of California. It's turning us into a state of rich and poor with much of the middle class leaving.

Yeah but there isn't anything you can do about it. Remember the demographics are against you and since nobody wants to do anything about it except Trump and people like you don't support Trump, you should just accept it and stop complaining about it.

Or you can think about what principles you would be willing to abandon to get the spic vote. Yeah I know, calling em spics ain't gonna win any votes. But, the way I see it you republicans in Commiefornia aren't calling them spics and I dint see where it is getting you.

So what principles are you willing to abandon to get those future demographics to vote republican. And to be clear, I am not asking you what the GOP should abandon. I am talking about YOUR principles.

This doesn't really have anything to do with demographics or who is President. Housing decisions in California are generally made on a state and local level. The majority of these housing decisions are being made by well to do white people.

As far as principles you didn't vote for McCain or Romney which is your right. How is that any different than me not voting for Trump?

Well those decisions are being made by democrats. Whether they are white or not is irrelevant. They and you have allowed your state to be overrun by spics who overwhelmingly vote for democrats who give you theses policies you come here to complain about.

So you see, one has everything to do with the other. If you aren't going to stand up to the invasion of your state the I don't see how you can complain about the consequences. Now if you truly don't see that A+B=C then maybe you deserve what is happening to you.

Oh and I never said you didn't have a right to vote for who you want. Just don't complain about things not changing if you aren't willing to do something different. Maybe you like watching the GOP bending over and grabbing their ankles. I don't. I like winning

If i'm not mistaken you're in a swing state so you not voting for McCain or Romney has a bigger effect then whatever I do in California. Whether I vote for Trump or not is ultimately irrelevant as Hillary is winning my state. And I know what Trump says but even if he were to win he's not changing the demographic shifts already occurring in this country nor is he kicking every out that's here illegally nor would he stop the increase of Asian immigrants coming to America.

So other than for Mayor of San Francisco and my local Board of Supervisors representative I don't vote for Democrats so I'm not sure how I get such credit for the changes occurring in California. And I support free markets and will continue to do so.

And the purpose of this post was to hopefully hear board liberals state their feelings on the lack of development of housing which goes against much of what they claim to stand for.

You have already given up and you don't know it. You talk like you are already defeated.

I have never stated what state I am from. There has been conjecture. But nobody knows.

As for wanting to know what libtards think, do you really have to ask?

I haven't given up at all. I happen to believe the GOP can sell it's message to all Americans, it just has to have the desire too. Within California yeah, there's not a whole lot of hope of things changing any time soon.

yeah, what are they complaining about......they can commute from Arizona......or they could just get a job in Tijuana.....
