there is no evidence he is a racist. In fact his out reach to blacks when almost other Republicans ignore black needs show me otherwise.
I'm not aware of any racial animus - other then the language (which should be deplored/called out).

I do not think it's over-intellectualizing to look at the totality of an individual - especially for such a heavy charge as "racist"

If you look at certain characters on this board and society in general-or Clinton's "generalization" last night;
you see "racist" and racist type characterization
( like the listing of 'phobics' Clinton rattled off) as a cheap & poorly assessed attempt to de-legitimize people you disagree with otherwise.

Bill Clinton did the same thing with his characterization of Make America Great Again slogan -calling it a dogwhistle to southern whites -
when in fact h used the exact same phasing in prior events.

I don't want real racists like david Duke to have a seat at the political table, but I also don't want cheap unwarranted accusations
to marginalize what are otherwise decent people, who may have uttered an untoward phrase.

It's too easy to play the race card when the results is shunning that person's entirety of experiences/actions
who otherwise has some ideas to contribute..

I think the term is grossly over-used for political advantage
