Saudi Government Links to 9/11 Shouldn’t Stay Secret

Explain how suicide pilots expected to convert us.

It's not that simple. Convert or die is the ultimate goal; but the immediate objective in 9/11 was to take us down. 9/11 was an act of war that has been mislabeled a terrorist attack.

Terrorism is a tactic used in virtually all wars in some form or fashion.

The Saudis were in some way culpable and everyone paying attention knew it. All that is/was missing is the particulars.
The Saudis did a lot with supporting ISIS ( mostly thru the Qatar banking system) but that was individuals.

The government sent some of their capitol criminals there -and the SA gov't (NGO equivalents ) did fund the madrassas in Pakistan,
where children of the mujahideen were exposed to Wahabbism, and became the Taliban..

But no. the SA government did not support the plot to bring down the Twin Towers.

No, they wouldn't because they need us just like we need them.

But there are likely elements within the Saudi government that think otherwise. And certainly within their borders.

yep. realpolitik says there is a symbiotic relationship -especially now that Iran is on the loose.

There are bunches of Saudi princes- who knows? -what individuals may support.

Bin Laden the elder was close to the Saudi royal family, especially Faisal. The Kingdom isn't a 'government' in our sense. I'd wager someone within the Kingdom at least knew of OBL's plans to attack on 9/11---if they didn't outright aid him.

Duh been saying this for years. All of Islam is evil and cursed. We shouldn't be allies with any nation that endorses Sharia law, or Wahhabism.

Afghani-NAM, Wakistan & saudi Arabia are probably the worst of the worst & are our close allies........

Didn't they become the Mujahideen first(1979-1989)?? Under the promotion of the USA??

you can wager what you want to,but there's no evidence ( and the monarchy is a gov't) of gov't involvement

children of the mujahideen were raised by the madrassas, I think it was "One eyed Omar" that founded the Afghan Taliban

Not in my opinion. Because I always take the position that unless there's a religious mania operating, the reason people do the bad things they do is to get money or power in one form or another.

Thats what makes you a Democrat. ....your inflexibility and narrow-mindedness, you inability think for yourself from other than a left wing perspective....

I suppose in our defense, we can't be enemies with everyone. Sometimes we have to ally with the lesser of 2.

BUt as far as business goes. We should stop buying their oil and doing business with them. Are we seriously buying goods from a state that stones women for not wearing a burka?

Yes........ We have been liberating Afghani-NAM for all these years & women are in as bad, if not worse position than they were then......

do we care about Chinese human rights? do we care about Iranian mass executions?

You don't have to fall in love with SA to do business with SA

Up to a point. Financing Islamic terror groups that then attack the west is far over the line.

The Bushes were close to the Saudi royal family. Barbara Bush called the prince "Bandar Bush."

"...the ashes of the Twin Towers are still smoking. Barely a plane is moving over America. The Federal Aviation Authority has ordered a massive shutdown. Yet what's this flitting from Tampa to Dulles to Boston? Why, just a specially chartered jet picking up holidaying Saudis, including many notable scions of the family bin Laden.

Hearts for transplant can't go by plane; Bill Clinton's in Australia and can't get home. But a 747 filled with rich Saudis has no such problem. They're off to the desert kingdom in the blink of an eye and bleep of some exalted pager. How on earth can this possibly be?

Well now... some 35 years before, a good old Texas boy called James Bath was living in Houston and peddling used aircraft. He happened to sell one, an F-27 turboprop, to a couple of young Saudi mates: Salem bin Laden, heir to a massive construction group fortune, and Khalid bin Mahfouz, heir to the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia. The lads came to fancy Houston, its lifestyle, its girls (and jetsetting around). They put down a few roots; they wallowed in a sudden gusher of petro-dollars; they - and many other Saudis - started to do what comes naturally: cultivate politicians, spread largesse, nurture a little influence. Over a quarter of a century, some $860 billion of Saudi money came flooding into the US and such influence followed naturally.

Meanwhile, a ripe cast of characters gathers. Here's Agha Hasan Abedi, founder of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International, Saudi money launderer supreme. Here's Bert Lance, President Carter's banker chum who brought poor Jimmy so much grief. Here's young George W, a friend of Bath's, and his dad, then a Nixon loyalist making his way up the greasy pole.

Here's Prince Bandar, Riyadh's long-term fixer and smoother in Washington. George Snr, of course, went on to be Vice-President through the Iran-Contra scandal when the Saudis did him (and Reagan) a monster illicit favour. Fifteen of the 19 9/11 hijackers were Saudis. Osama, of course, was a Saudi hero, valiant for faith. The money that fuelled al-Qaeda, its outrages and its training camps was basically Saudi.

You're dopey. Muslims aren't killing infidels in China or Korea, for example, because there's nothing in it for them in those societies. The majority of those they kill are other Muslims, not "infidels." Use your head. It's about power, not religion.
