Massive tax increase? You mean tax on money that was illegally made, and has had no tax levied on it? You make zero sense.

Many legal Mexicans send money back to Mexico so a blanket policy isn't going to catch only illegals. You could put a tax on wire transfers. Ultimately what this does of course is just increase ways people will try to send money. The unintended consequences, or black market, if you will.

Unintended consequences? Hardly a wringing of the hands concern. The majority of wire transfers going out of the country could easily be discernable. People will always find ways to cheat. But I think most would pay the 5 bucks.

It's a stupid idea that will hinder commerce and would be easily avoided.

They can't send money home without paying the tax. After they leave we save money on our schools, emergency rooms, foodstamps etc. We stop the competition for jobs, which helps lift the wage. All of these will help pay for the wall.
 
The National Socialist sure have a lot of faith in government. They think the government, the same one that can't keep poor immigrants from crossing the border, is now going to be able to track every wire transfer to Mexico and will know whether it cam from an undocumented immigrant.

he's moderated his tone in much the same that Hillary recently did where instead of shouting she lowers her pitch.
The speech had 10 points -some aspirational, most generalized but not impractical. difficult, but doable.

Immigration hasn't been reformed in decade ( Trump mentioned) because it's hard to do -there are conflicting interests
of helping those who came here illegally ( or born here) in good faith live their lives - but weed out all criminals
and enforce existing law as much as possible
