Trump to hit Lousiana while Obama works on his short game

Oh bullshit, people bitched about his fly over.

Some did, but they wouldn't have if it hadn't been a total fiasco from the get-go.

Bush assured LA that the feds were ready before the hurricane hit. Then, everything fell apart. People were stranded for days - on national TV - while FEMA messed up just about everything that they could mess up with the response. And then we found out that it was a Bush crony w/ no relevant experience heading FEMA.

It was embarrassing to watch our government react that way in a crisis. Bush's flyover was just the icing on the cake. If FEMA had done its job, no one would have cared.

What exactly did the feds to wrong?

LOL

It's hilarious that you're even discussing this if you can write something like that without irony.

Seriously: recuse yourself from these "Obama is just like Bush re: flooding" threads going forward. What a ridiculous question to ask.

Can't name anything, huh? If I recall, the mistakes were made days after, I'm talking about the initial days of blaming the feds when they did nothing wrong. Like the buses. But I'm sure you believe Katrina was all Bush's fault. You're a partisan like that.

That says it all. Please recuse yourself from discussing this further.

Whatever. The fact you think I'm right wing apologist says all I need to know about you.

Wiki actually puts the actual blame mostly on local leaders. This line really sums up partisan hacks like you though:

Bush was criticized for not returning to Washington, D.C. from his vacation in Texas until after Wednesday afternoon, more than a day after the hurricane hit on Monday.

I said he was criticized. I also said why. Not sure how you think that's a "gotcha."

And I'd be interested to see your calculations on how you arrived at "mostly" above.

Trump favorability rating nationally 31%.

I read the link you gave and it is clear from your link that most of the blame fell on local and state government. Had they reacted properly, there wouldn't have been a huge mess for the feds to clean up and make mistakes on.

The "gotcha" is you not criticizing Obama, while you probably criticized Bush for not returning from vacation. And really, it sums up other typical Demcorats.

That's hilarious. You read through that whole thing, then determined it was "mostly" on the locals? What a hack.

You don't understand the role of FEMA. When a disaster like that happens, they don't hang out & wait to see if the locals can handle it on their own, and only swoop in later if there is a mess. You guys are really incredible.

Actually that is not true. Read your own link hack.

I'm truly embarrassed for you.

Please stop trying to portray yourself as this "equal opportunity" poster. You're an extreme right-wing apologist & hack.

There are tons of links on google; Wikipedia is just the easiest. Yes, there were local mistakes. But go to the FEMA section of the link. We responded like a 3rd world country would:

Google is not your friend lol.

Almost invariably, when you're dealing with government corruption or inefficiency you wont look long before democrats start turning up. The Lousiana governor at the time, Kathleen Blanco, was late [late!?] in asking FEMA to respond. The way the system is set up, FEMA *responds* when requested by local authorities. Of course, you can take the partisan angle and try to blame Bush for that, since Bush could have called them to respond, but the primary responsibility lies with local officials and it turns out they were all Democrats.

Another one was the mayor of New Orleans, one Ray Nagin. Turns out Ray was a real winner. Ray is now inmate #32751-034 in our federal prison system. Ray was convicted on corruption charges.

Sadly for Ray, his last name isn't Clinton. But Ray, who happens to be a black democrat, had the brilliant idea to house a few tens of thousands of mostly black people [I'm thinking it's probably a good thing Ray was/is black lol] in the Super Dome without sufficient food and water. As you recall, that was the crux of the crisis which precipated all the political fall out for Bush.

Bottom line, democrats at the time were looking to take Bush down and Hurricane Katrina provided an opportunity for just that. But the actual facts suggest there was plenty of blame to be spread around---and it started with Democrats.

But you would never know that based on the way it was reported and/or remembered. Isn't our media just lovely?

What are you even talking about? Nagin was villified. His name is basically synonymous with incompetence.

You guys always deflect to the locals. They messed up too. I'm not sure why that makes you feel better, or makes you see Bush in any kind of different light on this matter. It's pure apologism.

It's ridiculous that I even have to write this: expectations for President of the United States are slightly different than they are for a local mayor.

All these Trumptard tears are causing more flooding. They're desperate to discredit Obama, when it's their master whose approval ratings are underwater.

Note to crying lapdoggies: Obama isn't running, and your master doesn't give a shit about flood victims.

:rofl2:
