When trumpf deports 11 million, who is gonna do the work they were doing??

Well then why not address the problem, employers who hire illegals, instead of the symptom, illegal immigrants?

E-verify has been working extraordinarily well. Ask anyone who manages in a service industry that relies on cheap labor. Between drug testing that washes out millennials and e-verify which washes out illegals they are having a hard time finding and retaining labor.

Now if they would start prosecuting those who hire illegals it wouldn't take long at all to turn illegal immigration into a manageable trickle.

It's not just illegals, it's the entire H2A/B temporary work visa program that drives down wages, why pay a fair wage to a US citizen when you can hire a migrant worker at half the pay, offer no benefits, and not pay overtime? The entire system is rigged against the American worker. This is how it works, Mexicans both on temporary work Visas and here illegally take out a mortgage in Mexico where land and homes are cheap and the greenback is like at a 10-1 exchange rate so as to buy a nice home there and they come here to work for five years, 6 days a week, for 60+ hours a week with no overtime for shit wages living 6 to a two bedroom apartment to save on rent and utilities so they can pay off their mortgage and then move back to Mexico and retire at 40. It's good for the owners because they save on labor costs tremendously usually labeling these hourly jobs as salaried positions or independent contractors under 1099 tax forms so as to avoid paying overtime or offering benefits or simply making side deals with the employees to under report hours to the feds but allow them to work more than 40 hours with no overtime, it's good for Mexican labor they get to own a home and retire after only 5 years of hard work, but it's not good for the American worker who is no longer offered a living let alone a saving wage due to the differences of the costs of living and the exchange rates between the US and Mexico. The American dream of home ownership and retirement through hard work is alive and well but it has been exported to Mexico. You won't hear that from any of the candidates including Trump because they've never worked one of these jobs and talked to these people in their lives.

Not really. It's more a supply and demand situation. Reduce demand and you'll reduce supply.

reduce supply and price goes up......price goes up maybe momma's basement doesn't look as comfortable........flip side, if there were legal immigrants instead of illegal immigrants maybe they would look for higher paying jobs where they wouldn't have to be afraid of employers who actually used everify.....

what is obvious is that the current system nullifies free market supply and demand cycles.....

Agree 1000%

Fine any employer found to have illegals $10,000 per illegal and give 10% finders fee

Problem solved.

While there will be millions of "good paying jobs" for the non-deported to grab, what about those [other] jobs that no one wants to do??

we have 47% of this nation as takers, sitting at home eating cheetos and watching soap operas. Make them work for their obamaphones.

Hopefully some of them will...........

Illegals are willing to work. For low wages and few if any benefits, they pick fruit, harvest crops, and perform manual labor in conditions that would kill many Americans.

Grind couldn't hack that kind of work.

obviously you've never worked......there aren't enough hours in the day for you to both work and keep up your post count here......

Will trumpf force them to take the jobs "or else"??

Desh thinks you work for ISIS? So I see you've met Desh. When California closed many of the mental institutions in the '60's she was one they let out.

Leaving aside we aren't deporting 11 million illegals or anything even close to that you ask a very good question.

I guess I would be labeled a globalist. It used to be called being conservative and believing in free markets. So the idea people have is if all illegals are kicked out and we limit legal immigration Americans somehow Americans will return to cleaning hotel rooms and making $15/hr+.

I don't view it so much as jobs Americans don't want to do as much as jobs Americans don't need to do. Let others do mundane tasks like that while allowing more Americans to pursue other higher and valuable jobs/interests.

There is debate among those who support free trade whether the gov't should spend money retraining those who are in industries that lost out. I could go either way on that but the crux of the issue America's wealth continues to grow but it does grow unevenly.
