Try living in a black community and associating with your neighbors and integrating into that community?
I did my undergrad at Wright State in Dayton. I spent my first two years at the Lake Campus and the last two years in Dayton. I first moved into small apartment with a friend on the east side in the urban hillbilly part of town cause it was closer to school. We bailed after three months. He moved to Fairborn (he had more money) and I moved into a nice boarding room on the west side of town that was about 75% black. Never had a problem there. About a year later I started working at a blood plasma center. Most of my coworkers were black. Dated about as many black girls as white. I learned a lot.
I think what I learned the most is that you can enjoy and appreciate and participate in another culture without it threatening your identity. Most people like it when you show them you are interested in them. I also learned that I could love a woman of a different race. Trust me, that didn't suck!!
