Muslims across America showed an outpouring of support for victims after the deadliest shooting spree in U.S. history left at least 50 people dead in an Orlando, Fla., nightclub.
The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations issued a statement that said, "We condemn this monstrous attack and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of all those killed or injured. The Muslim community joins our fellow Americans in repudiating anyone or any group that would claim to justify or excuse such an appalling act of violence.
The Muslim civil liberties organization is asking for blood donations to help those injured in the attack.
The American Muslim Community Centers, a mosque in Longwood, Fla., said the mosque stands with Americans and "senseless violence has no place in our religion or in our society."
''The American Muslim Community Centers is saddened and shocked by the senseless killings in downtown Orlando, and we pray for the victims and their family members," said Chairman Atif Fareed.

Fusion got in touch with Dr. Sekaleshfar, who lives in the holy city of Qum in Iran and is currently traveling in Sydney, Australia. I don't understand comments like this one.
As someone who is normally associated w/ the "left," I can tell you that I have huge problems w/ Islam, just as I do w/ religion in general. And I have no problem agreeing that there are more atrocities in the name of Islam in the present day.
That said, my 2nd thoughts after incidents like this (my 1st are truly sympathy & horror), relate almost completely to what I don't want America to become. And - like the thread I started earlier - that's a place like Nazi Germany, or Stalin's Russia, where ANY group is generalized and scapegoated. People talk about "slippery slope" on issues, but this is one where it's been proven time & again. Today, it's calling for a ban on Muslim travel. In a few years, it's barbed wire & cattle cars.
That's nice, now I guess it is name calling, I'll spare you my thoughts.

Perhaps they could consider monitoring their imams and explain why saying killing homosexuals is okey doke is not muslimey. One has to wonder why they don't get proactive on cleaning up their pr.
