Obama Has Officially Cut The Deficit By $1 Trillion
Here’s one piece of information you won’t hear on Fox News: under the Obama Administration, the national deficit has been cut by $1 trillion – with a T. And here’s another piece of information you won’t hear on conservative media:
Strong growth in individual tax collection drove the U.S. budget deficit to a fresh Obama-era low in fiscal 2015, the Treasury Department said Thursday.
For the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30 the shortfall was $439 billion, a decrease of 9%, or $44 billion, from last year. The deficit is the smallest of Barack Obama’s presidency and the lowest since 2007 in both dollar terms and as a percentage of gross domestic product.
Because of those evil liberal taxes and smart budgeting, the biggest financial eyesore – the deficit – is shrinking at an historical rate, and has been cut at historic rate.
But wait, there’s a third piece of information you won’t hear on MSM: The deficit is now just 2.5% of the national economy. That number is well below the average from the past half-century, and down from a staggering from 9.8% from January 2009, when President Obama took office. Imagine how much smaller it would be (or how much of a surplus we would have) if Republicans didn’t obstruct him.
Earlier this year, at his final State of the Union address, President Obama chided Republicans over their doomsday theory of economics and laid out the facts – the deficit has been cut by almost three quarters. President Obama almost eliminated an entire nation’s deficit.
Unfortunately, due to the stupidity of Fox News and the new anti-intellectual push from the right, almost three quarters of the American public think the deficit is growing.
But once President Obama leaves office and a Democrat succeeds him, the nation will on track to becoming deficit free. However, should President Trump become a reality, all that progress – like everything else – will be gone.
